Colwyn Bay venue for rugby team
Colwyn Bay's Parc Eirias has been chosen to host the Gogledd Cymru regional rugby team being developed with Welsh Rugby Union backing.
The WRU and north Wales rugby bodies have joined forces with Conwy County Borough Council to establish the sports ground as the team's base.
WRU north Wales board member Peredur Jenkins said: "Parc Eirias is a perfect location."
WRU chairman David Pickering said: "This is an extremely positive step."
Welsh rugby officials have also set up a working party to consider how best to develop the existing Gogledd Cymru team so it can enter meaningful competitions.


The plans are that the North Wales Rugby Union team will in the future be able to compete at the senior levels.

This will be an excellent development for Colwyn Bay. I just wish that the rest of Eirias Park would receive some attention, it's a fantastic resource but its all looking so tired and uncared for.
