The Mustangs of Las Colinas
… is a breathtakingly realistic bronze sculpture of nine wild mustangs galloping across a granite stream, with fountains giving the effect of water splashed by the animals' hooves. Tourists from around the world come to view the impressive, larger-than-life depiction that serves as the centerpiece of Williams Square, a stark, pink granite plaza in the Las Colinas Urban Center.

Adjacent to the sculpture, in the East Tower of Williams Square Plaza, Irving, Texas, is the Mustangs of Las Colinas Museum, In the museum, visitors learn the story of the eight years of work African wildlife artist Robert Glen invested in creating the Mustangs. The museum also presents a short film which brings to life for the visitor the time and effort that went into designing, molding, and mounting this distinctive piece of public art. Other works of art by Robert Glen are also on display in the museum.

I was saddened to read about the Glasgow School of Art's fire yesterday, I knew the building well, having worked nearby for many years, an iconic piece of Glasgow's history, todays news seems devastating, it will be a major restoration if not impossible.

 The Mackintosh building was completed in 1909 based on designs by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Scotland's most-lauded designer.

Today, Rabbie Burn's Day, it was a sad reminder, reading the BBC report on the devastating fire that destroyed The Glasgow School of Art's building.

Fire investigators have failed to find a cause for the fire that destroyed Glasgow School of Art's world-renowned Mackintosh building in 2018.

The blaze broke out on 15 June - four years after an earlier fire had caused major damage to the building.

But following an investigation lasting more than three years, the final report concluded that the cause of the second blaze remained "undetermined".
It said this was due to extensive damage and the destruction of evidence.

The art school said it "shared the regret" that the exact cause of the fire had not been identified and would take time to consider the report and its recommendations.

Investigators had to sift through hundreds of tonnes of fire-damaged debris
The fire investigation, which lasted until 30 September 2021, involved the excavation and physical examination of hundreds of tonnes of fire-damaged debris.

Banksy unveils Ukraine gymnast mural on building shelled by Russia

Renowned graffiti-artist Banksy has unveiled his latest work on a building devastated by shelling in Ukraine.

Banksy posted a picture on Instagram of the artwork, a gymnast doing a handstand amid debris, in Borodyanka.

Murals spotted in and around Ukraine's capital Kyiv had led to speculation the anonymous artist was working in the war-torn country.

Another, not officially claimed, depicts a man resembling Vladimir Putin being defeated at Judo by a child.

AN ART gallery in Llandudno has teased some pieces from its first solo exhibition, ahead of its opening next month.


Ffin y Parc Gallery, has made the move to Trinity Square, Llandudno after being based in Llanrwst for several years, with an opening slated for St David?s Day, March 1.

The gallery is owned by Ralph Sanders and Roland Powell, who established it in 2010 and have overseen its transformation into the biggest commercial art gallery in Wales.

Ahead of the opening, the gallery teased some pieces by Denbigh artist and Sarah Carvell, the gallery?s first solo exhibition in the town.

Banksy: London tree mural covered in plastic and boards

The street artist claimed the Finsbury Park mural on his social media on 18 March.

The mural features swathes of green paint on a residential building behind a nearby tree to give the appearance of leaves.

Days later it had been strewn with white paint.

Previously, Islington Council said it was installing CCTV cameras and looking at other ways to protect the work.

The authority added it wanted the piece "to stay".

Banksy's latest work appears on London Zoo gates

An artwork appearing on the shutters of London Zoo has been confirmed as the latest and final image in Banksy's surprise animal art trail across London.

It shows a gorilla lifting the shutter to release a seal and birds, while other animals appear to look on from the inside.

It is the ninth Banksy to appear in as many days in the capital.
