On a personal note, for those who might know this gentleman.

A former hotelier who used to run two busy hotels in Llandudno has spoken of the "crippling loneliness" he has felt since he retired.

Trevor Mitchell used to spend all day long speaking to members of his staff and visitors staying at the Chatsworth House Loretta hotels.
But now the 80-year-old says he can go through a whole day without speaking to anyone, and has just his TV for company.

A GRADE II listed hotel is on the market for £575,000.

Bella Vista Hotel, on Church Walks, Llandudno is on the market with Christie & Co. The 11-bedroom hotel has been owned by Neale Climpson for the past three years.

He is now seeking a sale in order to pursue other business interests.

In addition, there is a 36-cover restaurant ‘La Taverna’ located on the ground floor, which is leased out to an external operator, providing potential purchasers with an additional income stream cont.. https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/18002539.bella-vista-hotel-put-sale-llandudno-owner-decides-wants-pursue-business-interests/

He's trying to sell before the Pavilion development starts in earnest, which will cause at least 2 years of misery to any business operator in the vicinity and he will lose most of his limited sea view.

A HOSTEL is up for sale with a guide price of £495,000.

The long leasehold interest for the Llandudno Hostel is for sale

Owners James and Melissa Powell purchased the building in 2002, choosing to run it as a hostel. They are now selling it for family reasons.

James said: “Llandudno Hostel caters for individual travellers, larger families as well as school and sporting groups.

Not good news for the Tudno Castle/Premier Inn.........

Fears over Pizza Express restaurants as debt talks set to start.... The chain currently has debts of £1.12m with £655.6million due to be repaid by August 2022   ref DP

Pizza Express drops Llandudno restaurant plan
The restaurant chain has now withdrawn from the Tudno Point development.

It follows news that Pizza Express had hired financial advisers ahead of discussions over the restaurant group's soaring debts.

Beefeater is still due to open as part of the Llandudno development but chain Prezzo withdrew from the £10m scheme last year.

James Farnaby, development manager at Opus North, said: "Pizza Express is no longer coming to the site but this is a national decision rather than anything related to the Llandudno development.  ref DP

Four North Wales hotels in Gavin Woodhouse's collapsed property empire go up for sale - and this is what they'll cost
There are hopes that sales will be made to secure the sites and help raise funds to repay some of the money invested.

I think the police should follow through with an investigation, I always feel for the smaller investors and traders in situations like this.

The multi-million pound debts owed to investors in three North Wales hotels have been revealed.

Gavin Woodhouse's company Northern Powerhouse Development(NPD) bought up four North Wales hotels as part of a nine strong UK portfolio.
Now administrator reports into three of the hotels have been released - showing the huge debts owed to investors and trade creditors.

There is a massive amount owing to HMRC which may mean he is barred from being a director of a company for some years- hopefully. It looks like the investors and trade creditors don't stand much chance of getting their debts paid off in full. In view of the amounts and history of this, the Serious Fraud Office should investigate. It isn't known if they intend to at the moment.

Helig.

A Llandudno seafront hotel has closed after the company that owned it went bust.

Many staff at the hotel Esplanade worked their final shift last Tuesday and the hotel was officially closed on Friday.
"The Esplanade was a specialist hotel, having had millions of pounds spent turning it into a disabled friendly hotel."

Llandudno White House Hotel submit fresh signage plans.

https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/18143275.llandudno-white-house-hotel-submit-fresh-signage-plans/

"Both the colour of the new lettering and the materiality utilised will be sympathetic to the heritage interest of the asset, and as such, the listed building will continue to be read, appreciated and understood as it is currently following the implementation of the proposal.

"The new signage is appropriate to both the heritage values of the listed building itself and the character and appearance of the Llandudno Conservation Area, and will not look out of place when considered alongside other examples of signage to historic commercial buildings along the promenade.

"There will be no harm to either the significance of the grade II listed building or the conservation area."
