A married footballer named on Twitter as having an injunction over an alleged affair with a reality TV star has been named in Parliament by Lib Dem MP John Hemming as Ryan Giggs.

Mr Hemming named him during an urgent Commons question on privacy orders.

Using parliamentary privilege to break the court order, he said it would not be practical to imprison the 75,000 Twitter users who had named the player.

Last I heard from Ryan Giggs, I thought he was telling me he was 'homesick' .. when he said,

''Its alright living in Manchester,  but I do Miss Wales from time to time''

I think I misunderstood him.

British Airways have grounded all flights out of Manchester for 48hrs due to the impending ash cloud.
Nothing to do with the Icelandic volcano, just Ryan Giggs' reputation going up in smoke!

I dipped my toe into Twitter a few weeks ago,  sent a few pictures and made a few tweets.

This last couple of weeks I have not really tweeted anything, mostly because I don't think I had anything interesting enough to say.
Instead, I have read all the tweets that came my way, and I have come to the conclusion that no one else has anything of interest to say.... but that doesn't seem to stop them.

Tonight, I have seen that the Twitter community have been quite viciously bullying a couple of our teenage Olympians.
Simply because they didn't get a medal placing (yet)
Its a sad state of affairs when someone who skulks behind a keyboard, and does nothing productive with their lives can cause upset and anguish for motivated, high-achieving youngsters at the press of a button and face no consequences.

The same laws apply to Twitter and Facebook as to anything else. Anyone who thinks they are anonymous on the Internet and can bully people with impunity is a fool. I believe Dorset Police are currently investigating this case.

EDIT: Dorset Police have this morning arrested a 17 year old man in connection with the abuse of Tom Daley on Twitter.

Correct Dave.... that individual has been arrested, for breaching the 'malicious communications act'

This moron (allegedly) told Tom Daly that he had 'let down his recently dead Dad'

Incredible, what goes through the mind of these trolls?  &shake&

Funny story.....I was told this morning by a good friend about a local man who apparently has at least 4 Twitter accounts and spends his time talking/arguing with himself! Truly amazing, what would be the rationale for doing something like that?  &shake&

I've been told that there is also some idiot who is "lampooning" a local person and posting an absolute load of rubbish!   And having had a look, he's does not seem to be doing a very good job of it.   L0L
