Llandudno Fireworks Display 2023 - All you need to know
« on: October 24, 2023, 09:21:44 am »
LLANDUDNO'S bright and dazzling firework spectacular will return to the town on Sunday (October 29).              ref pioneer

This is due to the beach event being very tide dependent.

This year the display will be held at 5.30pm on Llandudno's North Shore beach.

A spokesperson from Llandudno Town Council, who organise the event, said: "Should adverse weather conditions prevent the display from going ahead on this date, then the display will be held the night after (again weather permitting), on Monday, October 30 starting at 5.45pm.

"This beach event is very tide dependent, with at least an hour being required in advance of the display to safely set up on the beach (at around 150 metres from the promenade) and a suitable time following the approximate 20-minute display to safely remove equipment from the beach.

"Tides and operating times are, therefore, carefully, and thoroughly assessed.

"In 2023, these are the closest dates to the November 5 at which the tide time and range is most favourable and safe to operate.

"We are very proud to provide one of the best fireworks displays on the North Wales Coast for our residents, visitors and the local economy and this year's display promises to be a spectacular display," the spokesperson added.

"We would like to thank Mr Adam Williams of Llandudno Pier for his generous support in providing all the machinery and manpower to ensure the event goes ahead and to Conwy County Borough Council for their support.

"This major event couldn?t proceed without the strong partnership between the Town Council, Adam Williams and Conwy County Borough Council."

Attendees are asked to look out for collectors on the night.
The spokesperson said: "Donations will contribute towards the cost of the display."

Fireworks, including sparklers, are not permitted within the event site.

A road closure will again be in place for the Promenade Road from 12-noon until 9pm.

The spokesperson said: "The council apologises in advance for any disruption this may cause and asks the public to please understand that this road closure is required to ensure they can enjoy another great display in a safe environment.

"The event is subject to weather conditions and announcements will be made closer to the date on our Facebook page Llandudno Fireworks Display and on the Llandudno Town Council website www.Llandudno.gov.uk."
