Starmer says fixing welfare is a 'moral imperative'It's a difficult problem for any Government to resolve and the idea of helping people to get back to work seems admirable and would help those people to gain employment and by doing so that would also help the economy of the UK.
However if those same people had been vetted correctly then the reason they are on disability benefits in the first place is because they are unable to work
However, like it or not there are large numbers of people fraudulently claiming benefits. Perhaps more time and effort should be invested in catching these fraudsters than putting pressure on the genuine claimants
It is common knowledge that there are well over one million people between the ages of 16 and 24 who are capable of working but are not seeking any work. Perhaps that is where the Government should be focusing their attention on and make them work, the jobs are there for these young people
