I think you will find that letting advert was for the property after it was rebuilt and refurbished.

In order for the property to be let, I also think the Tudno Castle was sold subject to contract to Travelodge UK, whose parent company is the Dubai International Company..

I do not know but I guess the sale of the Tudno Castle did not go through after planning permission failed and it may still be owned by the original company with local connections unless someone can post differently.

I've heard Premier Inns™ have bought the Clarence.

No idea if it's true.

Let's hope the Clarence Hotel news is true, it's an absolute eyesore at the moment.

Tudno Castle Hotel is still owned by Ashley Moore of Conwy Estates/West Bay Capital, as far as I know.

If Premier Inn have purchased and will refurbish the Clarence Hotel then visitors to Llandudno will be able to book a family room for £29 per night and walk over to Wetherspoons to eat and drink at bargain prices.

The only problem will be where to park their cars for nothing?

Have you ever tried to get a room for £29.00 ? They only seem to have a limited No. of nights for the year.

I often get them - just have to book far enough in advance.  Also not every hotel participates all the time.  Depends on what is going on locally e.g. Horse racing or F1 etc.

We stayed in one for £29 close to Gatwick Airport on the 28 February 2011.

It was brand new and the service was first class.

I'm still amazed that the Tudno Castle was closed fully furnished and just left. All of that furniture and fittings could have been donated to one of the Furniture Reclaim charities.

I wonder if the owner is still paying business rates to CCBC with all that furniture still inside.  *&(

Well I still think of it as he North Western Hotel and if it was knocked down the site would be great for a multi screen cinema.  we sell ourselves as he premier resort of Wales and there's no where to go when it rains, a cinema would be great.

Its good to see that there is scaffolding up around two of Llandudno's hotels, which were getting close to 'Eyesore' status.
(At least externally they were).
There is now work underway at both The Ambassador and the Four Oaks, both on the Promenade.

Recently, I was with Dave R when I remarked on the poor state of The Ambassador.
Apparently I voiced my loud opinion right in front of the owner!!   Well, maybe he listened to me....  L0L

Yes. http://www.hotelambassador.co.uk/historyhotel.html

The Ambassador was formerly 5 separate Hotels: The Brinkburn situated on the corner of The Promenade and St. Georges Place, The Tegwell situated on the sea front promenade, The Bodond situated on St. Georges Place, Baldwin House situated on St. Georges Place and Glyn Isa also on St. Georges Place.

I think it was 1972 the last time there was scaffolding up there  :D
