SANTA's elves made a special stop at the Welsh Mountain Zoo this weekend.

Following a sell-out season in 2022, Breakfast with the Elves has made a come back to the Colwyn Bay attraction.

The magical 45-minute experience at the Penguin Cafe includes a meet and greet with the Christmas Elves, a story time session, a special gift and festive themed pancakes.

The next Breakfast with the Elves takes place on Saturday, December 23. Head to the Welsh Mountain Zoo website to check availability / to book.

The Build a Snowman Trail will run until December 31. Free activity, handed on arrival.

The Colwyn Bay attraction has conducted its annual review

This Speckled Mouse Bird is among creatures great and small being counted by keepers at a North Wales zoo. Staff at the Welsh Mountain Zoo have been carrying out their annual headcount to see exactly how many animals they have in their care.

The Colwyn Bay attraction has a huge list of 70 species ranging from an alligator to Goeldi's monkeys and Weavers which are birds native to southern Africa

HUGE changes are happening at the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay.

The zoo is looking to appoint a new CEO - this will be the first CEO to be appointed outside the founding Jackson family.

The National Zoo of Wales is approaching the "critical mid-point" of its ambitious 10-year plan.

During 2024, a number of initiatives, developments and projects, will kickstart a shift in governance and strategic planning, allowing the zoo to grow and evolve

2024 will bring further investment at the zoo focusing on improving and developing enclosures as well as visitor resources and facilities. We will be introducing new initiatives and focusing on strengthening our engagement programmes.

?The zoo has been a North Wales tourism institution for 60 years and this is hugely significant juncture to ensure it remains so for decades to come. A strategic plan led by an experienced and dynamic individual will undoubtedly help us achieve that."

THE Welsh Mountain Zoo is offering free entry for mums over Mother?s Day weekend.

Mums, as well as grans and nans, are invited to enjoy to a complimentary visit to the attraction on March 9 and March 10 when accompanied by a full paying ticket holder (pre-booked adult, child or annual member).

Kaitlyn Jenkins, marketing and sales executive at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, based in Colwyn Bay, said: ?We wanted to really do something special for all the mums out there and welcome them to a day here on us.
