The ex-straw-dinary scarecrow festival brightening up a North Wales village in lockdown
A village has gone all out to raise the spirits and collect a bit of cash for a very good cause.
Scarecrows have been popping up in gardens across a North Wales village during the coronavirus lockdown.
Residents in Overton-on-Dee, in Wrexham, have been getting creative with almost 100 creating scarecrows - some of which are NHS themed in order to pay tribute to key workers fighting Covid-19.
The "ex-straw-dinary" creations include doctors, a mechanic, Humpty Dumpty, a cricket player and even a Welsh dragon - and have certainly brightened up the village, especially for children on their walks during the lockdown.
Organiser Jude Moulsdale said the village is hoping to raise £1,000 for Hope House Children's Hospice.
