More than 300 new coronavirus cases in North Wales as numbers soar ahead of Christmas Day
Some areas have seen huge increases in 24 hours
According to figures released by Public Health Wales today (December 24), there have been 340 new coronavirus cases recorded across the region over the past 24 hour period.
The death toll for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 574 - an increase of one in 24 hours.
In total, 16,724 Covid-19 cases have been reported in North Wales.
Across the country, 2,161 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded, bringing the total to 133,263.
There have been 63 new fatalities in Wales and the death toll now stands at 3,263.
The number of tests carried out in Wales in the latest daily report was 15,621 and a total of 1,890,273 tests have now been carried out since the testing scheme began, with 1,209,340 individuals tested.
