Conwy council conducts official investigation over 'inaccurate' Llandudno library figures
Cabinet to vote on Tuesday

Conwy is conducting an official investigation after “£126K savings” presented to back the closure of Llandudno ’s Mostyn Street library were labelled inaccurate. At a special meeting on Wednesday, Conwy ’s head of finance claimed closing Llandudno’s library and moving the service to Venue Cymru would save £126K a year.

Head of finance Ms Amanda Hughes had claimed Conwy was paying around £46,000 a year in electricity bills to Npower at the current site – a sum referenced as a future saving if the move went ahead. But this was before Cllr Louise Emery produced a letterheaded bill at the Coed Pella scrutiny committee.

What on earth made the CCBC  come up with the idea of moving the Library to the Venue Cymru in the first place?    It's bonkers

'Missing' business case for Llandudno library move must be released
Earlier this month Conwy’s cabinet backed the plans, despite concerns a business plan, requested by an earlier scrutiny committee never materialised.

At the special economy and place overview and scrutiny committee on July 2, Cllr Chris Hughes proposed councillors backed the plan for the library move, and this was seconded by Cllr Dave Jones before it was voted through.

I take it that our Councillors actually took a vote on something that they didn't have the full facts?       Why didn't they just defer the vote until the full facts were known and they could make a proper decision?
I've often called the Councillors a bunch of nodding donkeys because when one Councillor propose something all the others just nod in agreement.     I've realised that my remark could be taken as offensive so I must apologise  to my four legged Donkey friends if they have taken umbrage at my remark

That just shows you how bad CCBC has gone.  It’s a disgrace that most of them councillors are sat at home behind a laptop.    We know very well why they want the library & tourist information moved to the venue. And that is to make the losses look better.   You watch Mike priestly will get the cabinet post for ERF.  😡

A  planning application was approved near where I live and the Planning Committee made a number of conditions on the development
One ofv which was the permitted hours of work on the site:-
Weekdays  8.00 am  to  6.00 pm
Saturdays  8.00 am to  1.00  pm
No work whatsoever on Sundays and Bank Holidays  to protect the amenities of the neighbours

This was part of the terms and conditions granted in the planning application approval.       The Developer said that he didn't see why they should apply to him and has ignored them ever since.        The Planning Officer caseworker and the Enforcement team are fully aware of the breaches of planning conditions yet they turn a blind eye to what is going on
In recent monthsa very serious accident occurred on the site ande were badly injured with one of them having life changing injuries.   Two ambulances and an air ambulance were involved and the male who had life changing injuries was air lifted to Stoke Mandeville Hospital
The Health and Safety Executive  ( HSE )  of CCBC are fully aware of the incident but appear to have done nothing becausethe lack of H & S on the site continues.  It is pure conjecture but I wonder if the developer has carried out his legal obligation and notified HSE?

Wow that’s shocking.   That sounds so bad it warrants a jail sentence.
