The yellow warning of rain and thunderstorms covered most of north eastern Wales but we were lucky in Colwyn Bay as we did not have the thunderstorms to go with the rain that we did have.
Now what about St Swithin's Day on the 15th July?
St Swithin's Day: What is it and why do people think the weather today is important?

Like it or not, the climate is changing. Increased warmth means a lot more rain, so keep the brolley handy :-)

North Wales on alert for damaging 64mph gales as three flood warnings issued
Tonight's stormy weather will coincide with very high tides

I don't know what the weather is like on the coast at the moment but it's pretty wild up here on Colwyn Heights.    Tomorrow morning is bin day so I wonder  what the streets will be like tomorrow if people have left their bins out all night?

The storm didn't seem as bad last night as it was the night before, yet it was still strong enough to snap a large branch off this tree

I didn't hear anything about this on the weather forecast yesterday and nothing was mentioned today either,  perhaps the strong gale force winds wafted the obnoxious gasses away?
A toxic cloud of gas is expected to shroud the UK completely today
A cloud of sulphur dioxide has been moving across the UK after it was released by the volcanic eruptions near Grindavik, Iceland, on Thursday last week

Met Office predicts snow in Eryri as temperatures plummet towards freezing
There's set to be heavy snow on the mountains as a cold snap arrives in the UK

According to the weather experts it has been the hottest ever Summer in the world this year, but it seems to have bypassed the UK.    Last night  the rain was torrential and pounded on the glass roof of my sun lounge but it sounded like Winter rain, not quite hail but something similar

Forecasters are keeping a keen eye on the trajectory of Hurricane Kirk as it moves across the Atlantic. There are concerns it could bring disruptive rain and wind to some areas, although it will have lost its hurricane status by the time it reaches northwest Europe.

The latest forecasts suggest France might experience the worst of any stormy weather, but the resulting low pressure could still usher in heavy rain and high winds to parts of the UK from midweek.

North Wales could be hit by its first named storm of the season this weekend. Yellow weather warnings for wind have been issued for Anglesey, Conwy and Gwynedd from 3am on Sunday, October 20 until 12 noon on Monday, October 21.

Severe, gale force winds and heavy rain are predicted, for parts of the UK, with forecasters keeping an eye on the situation. BBC Wales weather presenter Sabrina Lee said there was a "potential for the next named storm". Storm Ashley has already been named by Met Éireann, the Irish weather forecaster, and it looks set to sweep across the region.

Storm Ashley brought gusts up to 73mph on Llyn Peninsula and huge waves
Highest winds recorded in exposed places like Aberdaron and Capel Curig

It has been quite wild in Colwyn Heights this evening but thankfully it hasn't rained much.      Apart from walking my dog I didn't venture out  because of the conditions.     I tried the West Shore web cam earlier this afternoon just to see how bad the conditions were but for some reason the web cam was not available
