Met Office predicts snow for North Wales this week with year?s second cold snap on way
Snow is currently expected to fall at lower levels but the impact may only be transient

Cold air flooding the UK from Scandinavia could bring some snow to North Wales this week, forecasters have said. An Atlantic low moving in on Thursday (February 8) is set to engage with this cold front, the Met Office predicts.

Northern areas of Britain may see a significant snow event as unsettled weather at the start of the week as the weather turns colder. In North Wales and across Cheshire and Staffordshire, the snow is likely to be more transient, said the Met Office.

Storm Kathleen to 'pack a punch' with gales and heavy rain this weekend
The storm has not yet been officially named but it is expected to sweep in from Ireland and North Wales is in the firing line

The storm?s exact course remains uncertain but Welsh forecasters say there?s a chance it could run up the Irish Sea. Gusts of 72mph gusts are already forecast for Anglesey but things could deteriorate further if the system tracks further east than expected. BBC Wales weatherman Derek Brockway warned: ?Brace yourselves for a windy weekend, especially in the west with gales.?

Ventusky is showing a Low Pressure area sitting on top of Leicester for most of tomorrow. Wind speeds there should vary between 4 and 6 mph.

I drove down Llandudno sea front today at about 10.00 am and the waves were crashing down on the beach.    It was very bad by the RNLI Station and I hope that the crew didn't have to go out on a rescue mission in those extreme conditions

Well the great British weather appears to have done something that is beyond the powers of CCBC and filled the paddling pool at Craig y Don!

Well the great British weather appears to have done something that is beyond the powers of CCBC and filled the paddling pool at Craig y Don!

Apparently it also flooded the cafe, and caused damage to contractors machinery up and down the prom, and reports from hotels with basements flooded, the argument for sand on the beach, is put into perspective compared to Llandudno flooding, I would prefer safe barriers, then sort out the sand, has anyone been to Rhos, is the sand still there?

Tractors seen scraping the debris from the prom yesterday..........

WATCH: High tide fills paddling pool in Craig-y-Don/ and effect on new shelter

Residents took to the Coast cafe bar and gift shop Facebook page to voice concern that the water may cause a delay to the re-opening of the paddling pool.

One person said: "Hope it?s not damaged the work so far! It?ll be full of debris and stones when its emptied."

Another person wrote: "Yes it?ll be next year now before it?s finished!!!"

Others posted more light-hearted comments.

One said: "Least it's filled now."
