You're a trier ME but it's still wrong.    It's quite an old building but was it there in Owain Glyndwr's time?        $walesflag$

Chwarae teg ME you don't give up on me.   Now look back to my last clue about Owain Glyndwr and that will give you the answer.      $walesflag$ $welsh$

No quite Hollins, but I'll give you that as you are so close.  Pydew is the Welsh word for well and Bryn Pydew gets its name from the well in the centre of the village.
Chris Draper in his book describes this as a particularly nice example of the water storage tanks that used to be common in country areas before most houses were directly connected to the mains supply.
I remember seeing it before all the Ivy grew on it and actually thought that it was something from WW2.

Too easy, Hugo...too easy.

Was your answer going to be a WW II  Bomb Shelter then Dave?

The location was a giveaway but it was the second question that was harder.

On that same walk I had, I passed an 18th centuary cottage which has the distinction of being the last house in Creuddyn to retain it's thatched roof, now replaced by slate.
What is the name and whereabouts of the house?

No picture clues but the walk covered Glanwydden,Llangystennin and Pydew.  The house was opposite a pub and is not by a lake now?     $walesflag$

Adwy Rhydd?

Adwy Rhydd was indeed a thatched cottage and the one time home of Hugh Jones but it's by Bodafon Farm in Llandudno and I'd have been well and truly tired if I'd have gone that far.
Nice try Hollins but I'm afraid that it is incorrect.

The pub became a shop and is now just a private cottage but the former thatched cottage retains its Welsh name keeping a reference to the Lake?      $walesflag$ $welsh$

The cottage also has the original well that gave Pydew its Welsh name

The Cottage in Pydew has the same name as a pond in Powys that is well known for its colony of amphibians?     $walesflag$
