The North Wales campsite where visitors say there's 'nowhere better'- with pitches from £13 a night
One such place that consistently attracts families each year is Shell Island in North Wales.
A staggering 300 acres of the 450-acre Gwynedd site is dedicated to camping, making it arguably the largest campsite in the UK with a whopping 800 pitches. The site is the largest in the UK with 300 acres of land dedicated to camping and 800 pitches available for tents and motorhomes

It must be 50 years since I last went camping there and I can still remember how nice the site was,  perfect on a day like today

An "extinction crisis" is happening in Britain's temperate rainforests where some of the world's rarest mosses, lichens and liverworts are vanishing, ecologists have warned.

The 'hidden' historic Welsh home that really should be more famous
The property is not on the usual tourism trail but has crucial link with language and culture of Wales

It's not hidden but on the side of the road and is worth the walk uphill from either the A470 or from Penmachno.    I was lucky enough to be there when they were restoring the building and was given a guided tour inside.
