It was a beautiful sunny day today so I had a short walk with a friend who now lives on Deganwy Quay.   The walk started from the Quay and we went to the Vadre and then to Deganwy Castle before returning back to the Quay along the coastal path.     It was quite hazy today but normally the views from the top of the castle are quite stunning

Stampede to visit eerie war-time tunnels and discover their disturbing secrets
The off-limits site remains one of the most mysterious in North Wales

A corner of North Wales hiding a secret for over 85 years continues to exert a strong pull on the public’s imagination. Historic wartime tunnels in Flintshire have remained largely out of bounds since 1939, so when occasional tours are organised there’s often a clamour for places.

The next tour date, by the Rhydymwyn Valley History Society, is on Sunday, April 27. Almost 3,000 people applied for the 60 places available, leaving society chairman Colin Barber in an almost impossible position.

The tranquil Gwynedd village so beautiful that only question is 'Why wouldn't you come here'
Borth-y-Gest near Porthmadog is a peaceful haven of coves and walks - with no through traffic

There are some nice walks from there to Morfa Bychan and to Porthmadog as well as an easy climb up Moel Y Gest

The Deganwy History Group have an excellent website and about two months ago I was reading an article on it entitled “Joan, Lady of Wales”
The talk was given by Diane Williams and was written by Lucinda Smith.  It was full of very interesting facts and was about Joan, the illegitimate daughter of King John, she went on to marry Llywelyn Fawr the Prince of Wales.
I related the story in full to Mrs H and when I mentioned the stained glass windows of Joan and Llywelyn in St Mary's Church Trefriw she said that she would like to see them
Yesterday was a nice Spring day so we drove to Trefriw and after going to see the Fairy Falls, we went to have a look at the Church which was open and straight away Mrs H could see the stained glass windows that were erected there in 1936
After taking many photos we headed back home.      A few years ago Mrs H's cousin called at our house with their Family History Tree and the last descendant on the Tree was Joan.     Mrs H must be wondering now how come she's married to a commoner like me

Another article in the Daily Post about Portmeirion
I visited Portmeirion and was bowled over (again) by its enduring appeal
Take a trip to the Italianate village on the Llyn Peninsula built over 50 years by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis

Eryri 'Path in the sky' getting 'discovered' on social media - to the concern of some
Despite its domineering presence the viaduct has remained relatively unknown

It's worth the effort of just a short walk from the main Trawsfynydd to Bala road to see the viaduct.   Be warned though that the first part of the disused railway track can be very boggy.

I walked by secluded bay with scenic beauty, local history and lovely food
Red Wharf Bay on Anglesey is a 'remarkable sight and you know you're arriving at somewhere special'

It is a lovely place to visit but it gets extremely busy especially on Bank Holidays
