In Pictures: Eryri in spring

Spring is upon us and as the days get longer and warmer, many will head out to enjoy the Welsh scenery.

Here is a collection of images taken by landscape photographer James Grant, who lives in Llangollen, Denbighshire.

The vast majority were captured in Eryri, also known as Snowdonia, in Gwynedd, while a few were taken in other areas such as Llandrillo, Denbighshire.

Banksy to stage first solo exhibition in 14 years in Glasgow

The graffiti artist Banksy has announced his first official solo exhibition for 14 years.

It will run at Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art from Sunday.

The show, which will feature work from right across his career, is called CUT & RUN: 25 years card labour.

Banksy has used original stencils to create new versions of many of his famous works, including Kissing Coppers which first appeared on a wall of the Prince Albert pub in Brighton in 2004.

Also featured will be Mobile Lovers, from Bristol in 2014, which features a hugging couple who are both looking at their screen over the other's shoulder.

TWO photographers from Colwyn Bay have won prizes for their pictures of the town?s ongoing sea defence project.

David Curtis won first prize in the individual category of the annual competition run by the Institution of Civil Engineers in Wales (ICE Wales Cymru), with Iwan Pritchard claiming third place.

David?s image of the Old Colwyn steps under construction drew in the most votes, with ICE saying the work is ?close to the hearts of many?.

Northern Lights: Will 2024 be the best year to see it?

People looking up at the skies in Wales have been lucky enough to spot some fantastic displays of the Northern Lights in recent years.

This has been made easier by more areas being designated Dark Sky Reserves or zones.

Tourism to witness the spectacle is increasingly popular, in part through the sharing of some striking images on social media.

Could 2024 be one of the best years to spot the celestial phenomenon?
