Road Closures on the Great Orme, Friday 3 June & Saturday 4 June
for the Three Castles Welsh Classic Trial

Marine Drive will be closed from the toll gate by the pier to the junction with Llys Helig Drive:
Friday 3 June, from 00.01 hrs to 11.00 hrs
Saturday 4 June, from 00.01 hrs to 18.00 hrs

St. Tudno's Road (i.e. from the Halfway Station to Marine drive) will be closed:
Saturday 4 June 00.01 hrs to 18.00 hrs

The roads are supposed to be closed to pedestrians as well as traffic. 

I have had this information from the organisers, who have provided passes for those needing access to places on the Great Orme which would otherwise be cut off.  I suggested to them that it would be helpful, and good PR, if they posted this information on the Forum, particularly considering the debacle of road closures for the Llandudno 10.  I was told that they had had some discussions with Ian and so I have been waiting for something to appear.  As time is running out, I've posted it myself.

We went to see the Three Castles run  this morning at about 8am, some great cars there, we'll be back again tomorrow morning, hopefully the sun will be shining!  D)

Nice Jag and Maserati there.  

Was the Jag a 3.8 or 4.2 litre straight six? Apparently, the six cylinder was quicker than the V12 version.

Would've been nice for someone to mention it to the residents Marine Drive and of the Orme, I only found out about the rally because of a neighbour who accidentially found out 2nd hand. Do the rights of local people not matter any more?

As far as I can see, the residential part of Marine Drive will not be affected directly but there are, of course, likely to be knock-on effects due to changed traffic patterns on the Orme.  For example last year when St. Tudno's Road was closed, the traffic on Ty Gwyn Road was very heavy and resulted in some considerable jams in the narrow part of the road where cars tend to be parked.  I mentioned this at a meeting with one of the organisers in October but I do not know whether there will be any parking restrictions this year to improve traffic flow.

Does anyone know what the new business is thats converting the church on Bod-hyfryd road / Abbey Road? I though it was the canoe people (forgot the proper name) but someone told me it was going to be a kiddies play centre? I spotted an 'opening soon' sign outside but didn't notice what it was.

I've heard it's something to do with Youth Services / Youth Club type venue.

It says it is called Bonkerz.

I assumed it was a kids indoor play area..
Such a thing is desperately needed in Llandudno in bad weather.. but that location is a little too far from the main area for 'real success', in my humble opinion.

It may be a daycare centre though?  A well guarded secret perhaps!

Some pets are very important members of their families and there are a number of dogs which are regular members of the congregation at St. Tudno's.  This is a chance for anyone to bring their pet along as part of the family, whatever the pet is, and at previous services pets have ranged from stick insects to a donkey.  Everyone is welcome, whether you have a pet or not.

Obviousl you aren't an 'animal person' or you wouldn't need to ask that question. All my animals, birds, fish and reptile are cared for and loved and had I been a church goer I would have been only too pleased to have them welcomed and blessed.

Be fair... I actually am a pet owner, in fact I have a pet bird that I love to bits....
... for the last few months she has been living at Merddin Emrys house, until my building nightmare is brought to an end.

But as much as I love her, I wouldn't bother with a church blessing for her.  She would most likely peck the vicar.

Maybe when she gets married??  then its her choice!
