A topical question for today.      What is the name of this North Wales village?

I thought that if anyone is going to guess this one then it would be you Cambrian and it was so well done.

It's the village of Capel Celyn that was flooded to make way for a reservoir for Liverpool
With all this dry weather I would imagine that the remains of the village will be uncovered again

We spotted a leak in the pipe but it doesn't look like it'll burst  just yet anyway

I don't know if you have driven up to the lake from Trefriw but the first part of it would have suited you in your Rally heydays,  I'll say some more about the road when I post my walk on here

Hugfo ... many years (about 50!) since I last went up there!  I seem to recall getting my car fairly close to the lake.  It was your clue about it being in the news that gave it away for me!
Just tried going up the road on Google Maps but it reached a gate and some repair work going on, so got no further!

DVT   Llyn Cowlyd is one of those lakes that are off the beaten track and usually only seen by the keen hill walkers so you did well to guess it from the clue I gave.     The road finishes about a mile from the lake so you would have only had a short walk to it
I've tried Google street view and only got as far as the gate that you refer to so Google mustn't go beyond the gates
Don't get tempted to go up there in  that nice car of yours as it's not worth the risk
