I seem to have lost the plot here - I thought the rule was the new word had to begin with the ending of the previous word.

I fail to see how Comet follows on from Edsel.

Now the sequence is gyroscope, whiriligig, weathervane - yes, I can see a (loose) connection between those, but not the spelling.

Please can someone explain - am I just being thick?

Dave, You are correct, it was intended that the word had to begin with the ending of the previous word, I thought another option might include some obscure connections, such as Comet, the link being, that the full name of the Ford car was the Edsel Comet from the 60s , but to save any further confusion we can continue as Ian's original post suggested............

The first posting is a short phrase e.g. shoe lace

The 2nd posting must 'follow on' by starting with the last word of the previous posting e.g. lace curtain.

And so it goes on......e.g. curtain rail etc etc
