Just numbers, dear boy, just numbers!   Unfortunately amongst all the Zero's they have inserted a few other meaninless digits!  You know what they say about statistics?   We went through that exercise a few weeks ago!

Blue print for Conwy events over next decade launched
The Conwy County Council Events Strategy for 2014 to 2020 was launched by Minister for Economy, Science and Transport, Edwina Hart at the ceremonial start of the Wales Rally GB on Thursday, November 13 at Parc Eirias, Colwyn Bay.

Conwy has played host to a series of high-profile sporting, music and cultural events in previous years, something that brings in an estimated £25 million a year to the region’s economy.

AM Hart said: “Since the launch of the Welsh Government’s major events strategy we have supported many events in the county such as the North Wales Choral Festival, Access all Eirias and Conwy Feast alongside some of Wales’ most prestigious major sporting events including the Wales Seniors Open, the Tour of Britain cycle race and, of course, this week’s Wales Rally GB.

“With both spectacular inland and coastal sceneries Conwy provides a great platform for a diverse range of both cultural and sporting events and with the development of Surf Snowdonia underway, the future holds some additional exciting prospects.”

The Events Strategy has set out how the Council will continue to organise and attract high profile events to the County and support event organisers.
Such high-profile events also showcase what Conwy has to offer on a worldwide stage, with the Wales Rally GB alone reaching up to 60 million people in 150 countries across the world.

Councillor Graham Rees, Cabinet Member for Tourism, Marketing and Leisure said: “When people come to an event, they see and experience the best that the County has to offer, and come back and visit again and again.
“That’s why we see events as a key aspect of the Council’s regeneration work across the County by continuing to provide opportunity for local people to gain employment and skills.”....RefPioneer

No mention of the "strategy" ??...

Llandudno Air Show draws record crowds

Record crowds turned up to watch Llandudno Air Show today, with thousands of people lining the promenade in the seaside town.

The annual air show, which celebrates the work of Blind Veterans UK, took place at Llandudno’s North Shore and saw displays from a range of aircraft including Old Buckers, Avro Ansons, Strikemasters, Catalinas, Spitfires, Hurricanes, Meteors, Mustangs and the legendary Red Arrows.

A spokeswoman for organisers Mostyn Estates said: “It was a huge success. I haven’t seen the promenade that busy in years.
“There were also so many people on the pier, the Little Orme and the Great Orme watching the displays, and there were numerous little boats watching from the bay.

“All the displays made it, and the Red Arrows were simply spectacular. It was their first flight of the season, and you could tell from listening to the in-flight radio that they were very excited to be here and pleased with how the display went.
“The pilots were also so happy to see how many people had turned out to watch them.”

Bank Holiday crowds flood North Wales for bumper weekend

Despite Saturday’s snail-paced traffic, attendance estimates for the annual fly-fest ranged from 50,000 to 75,000.

Berin Jones, chair of Llandudno Hospitality Association, said: “Without a doubt, Saturday was quite incredible. It was a real coup for Mostyn Estates to get the Red Arrows in the town.
“All the hotels were full. The weather helped and there were some great aircraft. Where else can you get a venue like this?”

The Daily Post ran an article listing ten Free things to do in N Wales. One was titled Lake Gerionydd, and showed a picture of what I suspect is actually Llyn Crafnant.  Am I mistaken?
