Police Commisioners

(1/1)

Fester:
Up to £100,000 per year salary.

Over £100 MILLION pounds spent on the electoral process.

14.9% turnout, and some polling stations (staffed at £10 per hour each person) had ZERO voters.

Jack:
And now an inquiry into the poor turnout = ££££££££££££ wasted

Blongb:
Before the election for Police Commissioner I emailed all five prospective candidates with a series of questions on their political views, privatising parts of the Police services, what their aims were with regard to the way they saw Policing developing in North Wales etc. etc.

I received timely answers from two of them (Tory and Labour sponsored candidates) at 9:30pm on the evening of the election I received an answer from a third candidate (supposed to be an independent but really a Liberal Democrat) and the other two I’m still waiting to hear from.

As I was unable to make an informed choice I joined 86% of the population and didn’t cast a vote. In my defence however I think it was entirely due to apathy on the part of the candidates that led to that decision.
