We passed the old Vollams shop in Gloddaeth Steet this afternoon, (where I worked 50 years ago), and the door was open to the new restaurant.

It looks nearly finished and appears quite nice inside.

They looked about ready to open when I walked past last week, looking forward to trying it out.

Asia does very well across the road from Wetherspoons, for people who aren't keen on microwaved Indian food.

For sure, that's been their years though and has a good reputation, will be harder for a new place.
I prefer Bengal to Asia - there is also a good eat as much as you can place above the Ice cream shop near the conservative club

Which Indian you prefer in Llandudno says a lot about a person I think.

I'm not sure what exactly, but y'know... a lot.

Which one would you vote for, Tom?

I used to be a Bengal man, in fact that was the first establishment I ate in in Llandudno.

Now, I'm swinging more to Asia.

I don't rate either particularly highly in the curry stakes to be honest but they're the only game in town (I think)

Asia is a nicer place that cannot be argued, but Bengal is better for food. Although I'm vegetarian so couldn't comment on any meat products

Gin boom has seen three North Wales distilleries take craft spirit sector by storm.                  ZXZ

A surge of interest in craft spirits has seen a new gin industry suddenly take-off in North Wales.
Just over twelve months ago there wasn’t a single gin distillery in North Wales but now there are three small producers in the region.

Snowdonia Distillery in the Conwy Valley have been joined by Dyfi Distillery in Corris, Gwynedd, and North Star, also in the Conwy Valley.

The new Mango and Bamboo Restaurant will be offering both an Indian and Chinese Buffet when it opens on the 20th September.

I went to Asia last night... maybe all this curry talk got my tastebuds going. It was great! Best one I've had from there yet.

I can't quite remember what it was called, something with garlic and chilli, recommended by the proprieter (who also offered me a half-price second pint while I waited).

He said he wasn't worried about new competition.

Are there any further developments on what is happening at the Fountains Bar?
