Spent a nice day in Chester and it was very festive, now i know we cannot compare Llandudno;s shopping with Chester but there is no need to keep the town center void of xmas cheer. There was a xmas market in front of their town hall with a few rides for the children, this could easily be done around Bog Island with a little thought. The trees around bog island could all be lite up just like Junction roundabout with a little THOUGHT.Mostyn St could be brought to life with a carol singers, brass bands and some lights with a little THOUGHT.Sitting empty on Mostyn Broadway right in the heartof the shopping area is a large piece of tarmac[coach park] that should be used as a car park over the festive period, with a little thought, ok there is a cost but all these points would enhance the town if the council could just have a little, pride, will, enthusiasum and a little thought.  ££$

Its not just the Town Council that can take such initiatives...

For example, the Pier Company could organise a weekend of market stalls, craft stalls, a Xmas themed event... and even have a Santa's Grotto at the end of the pier.
If advertised properly, it would certainly generate interest and much needed income at this time of the year.

Probably too much risk of bad weather closing the pier this time of year sadly  :(

Often wondered about that.  It would rely on voluntary groups being organised enough to do it, but certainly they could under the copious awnings around the street.  Ideally, they would have to pedestrianise, albeit temporarily, the section of Mostyn St to be used, but it could work.

There seems little incentive for volunteer groups to provide entertainment.  I'm sure they would first of all like to see some initiative from the Council before they would give support - I know I would!   $good$

We vote the councillors in so they can look after the town, unfortunatly there is no will on their part  to show any incentives to anybody

The old National Milk Bar is being painted.  Anyone know if it has been let or is it just the land lord trying to get someone to rent it?

72 Mostyn Street (Burger King as it was last) has been sold to a local businessman with a strong Conwy connection...  ;)

Wasn't there also a Wimpy at the bottom end of Mostyn Street at one time?

I think you may be right.

Where exactly I can't remember.

National Milk Bars have owned that property for a very long time.
