The ironic thing is that the people complaining about the M&S ordering screens online is that they are successfully using screens to do so.  ;D

I’ve always found them very easy and convenient to use, myself.

OK it must be me  :-[

This from a DP article......

Almost 75,000 pension credit claims have been made as the Government pushes to increase benefits uptake. The Department for Work and Pensions said last week that about 74,400 pension credit claims were lodged in the eight weeks following July 29, when Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced means testing for the winter fuel payment.

This figure is a significant increase from the 29,500 claims made in the eight weeks before the announcement. However, there was a slight decrease in the week starting September 16, with 11,800 claims compared to 13,400 the previous week.
Interestingly, the majority of these claims (91.8%) made in the week commencing September 16 were submitted online

Re: Cafes, Restaurants, Pubs..Should you tip even if the service wasn't worth it

Should you tip even if the service wasn't worth it?

It's the end of a meal out and you've been presented with the bill. Suddenly the pleasure of the food you've just eaten is replaced by a faint wave of anxiety as you realise you've got to work out how much to tip.

If you tip too little will you face the wrath of the waiting staff? Will you end up tipping too much? And if the service was bad, should you tip at all?

The debate is not restricted to restaurants - gratuities can be offered to many workers including hairdressers, taxi drivers and hotel porters.

A new law means workers must receive all of their tips – which is expected to benefit some three million workers in England, Scotland and Wales.

But there are no hard and fast rules about how much you have to leave.

I think the journalist may have got that wrong, as threat of increased competition is not a factor when determining a Planning Application.

A SOCIAL club in Llandudno which dates back to the early 20th century will cease trading this week.

Llandudno Conservative Club, on Mostyn Street, is to close for business on December 8.

The club was founded in 1905, and remained a popular venue for events and sports and leisure activities, including bingo and snooker./

The business said the decision had been made due to a "lack of trade and funds".

An extraordinary general meeting (EGM) will be held, the club added.

In a notice to customers on social media, the business said: "It is with deep regret we announce that Llandudno Conservative Club will close for business at 8pm on 8th December 2024.................https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/24774871.119-year-old-llandudno-social-club-cease-trading/?ref=rss&IYA-reg=49560bcd-5a9c-47f0-8fc5-ba2e71710589

THE FORMER site of a boutique clothing store in Rhos-on-Sea could soon be home to a café restaurant, under plans by a Colwyn Bay company.

The old Kit 'n' Heels site, on Penrhyn Avenue, could have its premises licence changed to allow sale and consumption of food and drink.

This would be for the creation of a café or restaurant, part of plans submitted by Colwyn Bay-based wealth management company Spillane & Co.............https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/24806916.former-boutique-clothing-store-rhos-on-sea-become-food-spot/?ref=rss&IYA-reg=49560bcd-5a9c-47f0-8fc5-ba2e71710589
