Loungers will be opening their Llandudno venue in the next few months. They will be taking over a prominent retail site in the town centre, but its not the old M&S...

M & Co?

;)
UK restaurant chain submits plan to take on Llandudno retail unit
Loungers has been trying to come to Llandudno for years and has identified the current M&Co site for a restaurant

A  restaurant chain has submitted its plans to open a site in Llandudno. Loungers had previously hoped to bring the brand to the former Marks and Spencer satellite store on Mostyn Street.

After initially being rejected by planners in 2019, an amended plan was given the go-ahead but with the pandemic impacting the hospitality industry the chain withdrew its plan in 2021. Last month North Wales Live revealed the brand was now looking for staff in Llandudno although they did not want to comment on the plans.

A PUB in Colwyn Bay has closed as of today (July 18), a decision that it said has been taken ?with a very heavy heart?.

The Pavilion, on Abergele Road, shared the news on Friday.

The pub posted: ?As a community, we felt it best to be completely open and honest with everybody, and it is with a very heavy heart we announce that as of Monday, our doors will be closed.

A blogger from North Wales has launched a website that offers recommendations, news and openings of eateries in Anglesey, Conwy and Gwynedd.

North Wales Grub  https://www.northwalesgrub.co.uk/  was started by Lisa Lympany as a social media blog highlighting eateries in the three counties, including offering recommendations on where to go, reviews of places Ms Lympany had visited, and news regarding fresh openings and updates.

Following the success of North Wales Grub on Instagram and Facebook, which became the go-to source of information for many on where to eat and drink during the COVID-19 lockdowns, Ms Lympany decided to make adapt the blog further.

?As the North Wales Grub social media accounts became more popular, I received a surprising amount of feedback saying they?d like the recommendations to be available in a web format,? said Ms Lympany.

I was recently treated to afternoon tea at ?Y Llew Coch? in Ty?n y Groes. I was just looking at the photos which has made me feel a bit peckish. The food was really good and I?m sure I?ll be making a return visit, maybe for one of their light lunches. With so many pubs closing down, it?s nice to see this one reinventing itself.

We visited Rousta's Greek Restaurant in Mostyn Avenue Llandudno for the first time last night and really enjoyed the evening.    As soon as we entered the place we had a nice warm welcome from a member of this Greek family run business.    The atmosphere was good and the Greek music played quietly in the background made us remember some nice holidays in Greece.
We both chose the Souvlaki meal from the Grilled Dishes and it was delicious    10 out of 10 but we had been warned that the portions were large.   We couldn't finish it all but took the meat home in a doggy bag for our dog to finish it off
We did have ice cream for a dessert but it was certainly an acquired taste and didn't like it at all, but we'll know for next time

A nice reminder of one of our better cafe's......

The Beach Caf? Bar, Penrhyn Bay: Popular spot with panoramic sea views 'offers just about everything'

As its name suggests, The Beach Caf? Bar is close to the beach but is also adjacent to the Wales Coastal Path and North Wales Cycle Path. So, there is no excuse not to get here either by land, sea or bike.

The newly refurbished caf?-bar is actually located right opposite the beach in Penrhyn Bay and the new decking lets you take in the wonderful sea view. It looks more like a converted house rather than your typical shabby beach hut.

The hidden micropub with a 'banging beer selection' that's tucked away on a Llandudno backstreet
TAPPS micropub could be mistaken for a house on first glance - but it's so much more than that

Re: Cafes, Restaurants, Pubs & Takeaways ...The Toad

A PUB in Colwyn Bay has said it will remain closed indefinitely after it was the target of an arson attack earlier this week.

The Toad, on West Promenade, was due to be closed from September 24-30.

But after the incident on Tuesday morning (September 27), it confirmed it will remain closed ?for the foreseeable?.

It plans to reopen once the damage caused by the attack has been repaired.

A post on the pub?s Facebook page read: ?We were due to reopen tomorrow, but due to a random arson attack in the early hours of Tuesday morning, this has caused some considerable damage to The Toad.

I'm sorry to read that article as the owners of the Toad have had to overcome obstacles in the past such as the building of the flats on both sides of the pub and the Promenade works.
It's a nice place to go to for a meal and I hope the Toad will open again asap
In the meantime the low life from out of the area who has committed the crime should be dealt with properly and should not have a suspended sentence as he could well strike again
