Anyone else heard on the grapevine that Tesco have pulled out of the deal for Woollies old shop?

If that IS the case, and Poundstretchers were gazumped (after putting up thier signage) then they deserve all they get!
Speculation now that it is going to be a Sainsburys Local!

I understand that the Julian Graves shop in the Victoria Centre has been placed on the market.

The Parade Pub in Church Walks will be reopening in a  few weeks as an 'authentic Irish Bar'.

Interesting!
Judging by how busy all the other pubs and restauarants in Church Walks were tonight, that is a great idea and it will rake it in.

Hope the brewery are not doing it on the cheap and it just reverts to the dive it has always been. Z**

Topolinos in Upper Mostyn Street have applied to operate as a Takeaway, Planning Officers are (rightly, in my view) recommending refusal.

I've heard this morning that the Starbucks coffee shop chain are possibly looking at opening in Llandudno. A corner site in central Llandudno currently in retail use has been mentioned. All very tentative, of course, so we shall see.

I'm pretty sure that Julian Graves is a franchise so maybe the franchisee is fed up.

I'm a proper coffee addict I have to admit but you can't beat Costa Coffee in my opinion.  D)

As I left the very excellent Fat Cat bar tonight, at only 9.40pm,  I couldn't help but notice that other bars such as Fountains and the London had literally NO-ONE in. Completely devoid of customers.  (The Fat Cat had quite a few in , but could not be deemed busy)

This is August for heavens sake, the main season is here in full vigour,  there is something very wrong methinks.

It is,  but there is more to it...
There are people in the town despite the poor weather,  so are they staying in?  are they skint?

Whats going on?   I foresee more businesses going bump before this year is out at this rate.

Came back through town at about 4:30 yesterday and for some reason there seemed to be about 50% of the people that had been around at a similar time last week. Second week of the major school holidays.  Could it be that people can no longer afford to have both of their "wakes" weeks away.

Asda car park was still mainly empty just after 9 this morning and I could have parked anywhere at the Bog Island end of town.
Colwyn Bay was worse at 10.30am, very few stalls on the market( no plants which is what I went for) and even Morrisons ( got a couple of plants there) was quiet.
The proms in Colwyn, Rhos and Llandudno were all quiet.
