This might be of interest to Wrex regarding the Victoria Centre:

http://www.dailypost.co.uk/business/business-news/llandudnos-victoria-centre-revamp-attract-10255761

Mr Hillier has hit the nail on the head there.  As a middle aged bloke who already owns a mobile phone there isn't a single shop in the Victoria Centre that's remotely of interest to me.  There used to be the place that sold discounted men's "designer" clothing which was ok and before that Publishers Book Clearance but they're both long gone.  In comparison the Bay View Centre has far more variety and has shops selling useful stuff and I'm sure Mr Hillier would chew off his own right arm to get someone like Morrisons in his centre to generate footfall.  I even prefer the White Rose in Rhyl to the Victoria Centre because B&M and Poundland might not be the best of shops but they're a lot more interesting to me than Dorothy Perkins, Roman and Julian Charles ever will be.

If the pound bakery had been inside the Victorian centre instead of outside that would have generated a massive footfall

I wouldn't have expected Greggs to have complained about that.

How can they complain? They are a shop just like any other.

Do you think Mostyn Estates have another tennant for the old Timothy whites, seems a strange time for the pop-up shop to close.

I think the Antique Emporium is a nice addition of a local business to Mostyn Street, in the old Red Cross shop.  $good$

Apologies that this probably has been done before and maybe it belongs on the past thread but does anyone remember Billy Mack's I think it was called. I was only in school in Landudno for a couple of years (secondary school wise I had my first  two years in John Bright before we as part of my father's job with the Abbey Nationional so  finished my own school time in a grammar school in Tunbridge Wells, Kent).  The Pydew bus ran form Oxford Road near the police station so from the Trinity Avenue block (the former Mostyn school?), I used to pass it everyday.  It used to have lines of boiled sweets, acid drops, pear drops and other temptations.

Or the chippy we used sometimes instead of a school meal - Greasy Lills???

I did actually live in LL much later in my one history but am in some ways more of a past era.  Bog Island can only ever be that to me no matter how it is named.
