Well, spelling is dynamic, just as Language itself is. I actually believe that Grammar and punctuation are far more important, as errors there can significantly alter the sense of what you're trying to convey.

I've just been past the new Farm Produce shop in Rhos (opposite Spar). What a great shop, brimming with local produce and all very attractively displayed. The shop is a real asset to Rhos already.

We walked past that the other day and thought how inviting it looked. I hope they do well.
What is the fish and chip shop like opposite the Spar?

It's pretty good, same owners as the Galleon in Conwy.

This chip shop has been there for over 70 years to my personal knowledge. Rather surprisingly, during the war they sold only chips. Thats right, no pies, no chicken, not even fish.
Cannot imagine why no one got a line out in the sea and caught them some fish.  Mike

Strangely, within 20 minutes of me posting the HMV article, the BBC pulled it... and amended it to the one below which says HMV 'may' go into administration as early as Tuesday.

I advise all Forum members to spend any HMV gift vouchers they may have, as in administration they WILL NOT be honoured!

Boss of Jessops, decides to move on, takes a post at HMV?  A top financial man.   Never mind the record shop, has this man managed to make a record for himself? Mike

Sad but no surprise - for example nearly everything that HMV offer I can get pretty much instantly for cheaper - for DVDs, films, box sets etc - I subscribe to Netflix and have Sky on Demand, both on my home TV with tens of thousands of content I can access at anytime for no more than my monthly fees. Games I can get from Amazon, next day delivery and much cheaper, CDs I can download. Interestingly the thinks I can't get are the very things that HMV decided not to follow on from the indie record shops they put out of business, Vinyl and rare and local artists. It would be great if some independent stores could emerge as I miss the Kavern and the like. I don't know much about local business but from what I read on here that seems pretty unlikely because of the rates though

I was actually thinking to myself that the demise of HMV might well see the revival of an independent shop similar to Kavern, selling a mixture of popular & rarer music/dvds.

I've never seen the point of gift vouchers, the only ones worth having have a picture of the Queen on them!  :D
