Our Rhododendron  " Cynthia"  is now in flower and the flowers are a lovel Cerise colour and we have some more that look like they will be out soon.
There are 250 varieties of Dandelion and unfortunately the variety in my back lawn are the very short stemmed ones and they seem to duck their heads as the mower goes over them so I've given up on trying to eliminate them from the garden
In part of the lawn there are quite a few Cowslips so I don't mow the grass in that area.    We also have a few  Common Spotted Orchids in the lawn but unfortunately I have mowed over them but I did have a close look yesterday and they appear ok.
In the past I've put down pegs to mark the Orchids but our dog Teddy used to pick the pegs up and run off with them
On the subject of Teddy he was playing with a smaller dog on Friday and did his back in.     We took him to the Vets and he had a CT scan and they said that he may need spinal surgery so on Friday night we dicussed Teddy and didn't want to put him through the operation.      Anyway the CT results came in on  Saturday afternoon and they said that surgery was too risky but we were pleasantly surprised when we saw him,   He was quite lively and had been given pain relief so that was great
He's confined to the back garden and is not chasing cats or Badgers for at least 2 weeks.    At over £2K  it has been an expensive weekend but worth every penny to have the naughty boy back      :)

A ONCE-NEGLECTED plant nursery in a village in Conwy county has been brought back to the life thanks to the hard work of one couple.

Gary and Karen Marshall moved to Tal-y-Bont from Warwickshire during the Covid-19 pandemic.

When Gary discovered that the nearby nursery—just five minutes from their house—was available for redevelopment, he saw it as the perfect chance to combine his landscaping expertise with a way to contribute locally.

A RHS qualified landscaper, Gary saw an opportunity to give something back to the welcoming community they now call home.
