Jacko, just a thought, I wonder if it could be Castell at the top of Nant y Gamar.  The gate looks similar to one I have seen up there.

yes i did see this on old maps and there was 2 dwellings just above castell,was there an old castle in the area,

photo taken from castelle? i did go on street map,and on road nant y gamer the area i wanted to see had a notice private road,so close.

Castell was on Bodafon Road between Pant y Ffynnon and Pen y Mynydd

Jacko, Rhyl had a very long and interesting Pier.  As did Rhos and many other towns.

You can read about them in this book... I have a copy, its great.
