Another sport that I really enjoy is horse racing.
Today we took the train from Rhyl and had a super day at Chester races.
Lovely sunshine and picked 4 winners out of the six races.
Hope my luck doesn't run out with the football tonight!

My Daughter is very lucky, she goes to the races about 4 or 5 times every week. She drives a horse box for a living taking and returning race horses. She doesn't bet and doesn't give me any tips either.

Hmm, it came 14th out 17. Never featured in the race according to the commentary.

I hope someone had a £1 on my namesake Hollins in the first race at Goodwood, 20/1 winner.
Sadly I was busy making the lunch and missed putting my bet on!

Sounds like a horse to watch:
A deserved Goodwood Stakes win for Hollins provided Micky Hammond with his first taste of success at the Sussex course.
The multi-talented seven-year-old (20-1) has taken his Yorkshire-based trainer to many of the Festival meetings under both codes and he cut a particularly determined figure under Paul Hanagan to thwart the challenge of Seaside Sizzler by three-quarters of a length.

On Thursday we were at Meydan racecourse in Dubai for the Carnival meeting. This is one of the races building up to the Dubai World Cup later in March. It is a much quieter meeting than the big one but very enjoyable.

Yorkie may no longer be a Forum member, but he still plays Scrabble against me online.
A feature of that game is the ability to text between players.
Today, Yorkie texted me the winner of The Grand National.... at 2pm in the afternoon... a full 2 hours before it duly romped home at 25/1 !!!!
Of course, I didn't put a bet on it, as I was at work.... AAARRGHHHH!!! $angry$ $angry$

The Grand National has been cancelled as coronavirus fears caused the government to clamp down on mass gatherings.
The Jockey Club, which runs Aintree Racecourse, announced on Monday evening that the 2020 event, which normally brings thousands to the track, was off.
In a statement, they said: "Unfortunately, The Randox Health Grand National Festival will not take place between Thursday 2nd and Saturday 4th April 2020.
