http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/whatson/?event_id=3296 (http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/whatson/?event_id=3296)
this museum is always worth a visit and it's free, you just pay for the car parking. You can have a ride on the Llanberis Lake Railway too

No, it's past.

There's loads of activities to enjoy during the show from 24 to 27 February 2011 (10am - 4pm), including free rides for children on miniature steam engines and trains.

So we all need a smart phone now to use the Forum?  To my mind the standard link works fine and I don't require any other electronic stuff.  Thanks, but no thanks!    Bring back the alphabet and numbers.

It's the future (sorry that sounds a bit like Peter Kay and Garlic Bread). I spent about 6 months working on a system that created and printed these identifiers on neo-natal babies wristbands on a project in an NHS Trust hospital. Can you imagine how small the wristband, let alone the image was.

They obviously have their uses and such as you mention is admirable - but on a local Forum????  >>>

The Nazi's had identifiers for the jews, in the form of a number tatooed on your arm and a triangle or two triangles one inverted over the other.  It is just as well that the silicon chip wasn't around then!

QR Codes are very common these days, you see them in magazine adverts all the time and on posters in shops etc. Smartphone usage has exploded over the last year or so. The Llandudno Emporium has postcards with them printed on the back (thanks, again, H, they look great!)!

First time I've ever seen them ???  I can't quite see what their purpose is?

I have learned loads of things since I joined this forum.
Today another one is added to the list........QR codes!
When I saw them on the back of the Llandudno Emporium's postcards I thought they were part of Dave's graphic design.
Now I know they have a use!
DaveR, why don't you put the other side of the card on here?

QRcodes... just think of them like a bar-code.

Its simply a link to a web page, but without clicking on something. Am I right?

I too do not have an iphone, but have seen these things in action.

QR codes can also contain text

It looks more complicated than a QUERTY keyboard.  I think I'll start a fire in the back garden and revert to smoke signals!   L0L

Open Church Day

Saturday 17 September

This is a national event organised by Churches Tourism Network Wales and a list of open churches  (http://www.ctnw.co.uk/ocd2011/)can be found on their wesite.

This is a chance to visit some churches which would not usually be open while others, like St. Tudno's on the Great Orme,  (http://www.llandudno-parish.org.uk/sttudno.html)will be putting on special events.
