Post by: wrex on January 10, 2014, 08:42:38 am
I have been to Rome 5 times now and we are off again in March,so as you can guess we love going but has anyone got any little gems that we might have missed. We try to go when the rugby is still on and then just find an Irish bar and watch Wales on the box, grat atmosphere watching it in another country.

The usual things are the catacombs, the Circus (just a park, now), Trevi fountain, Col, and the vast amount of priceless statuary all around the streets and public areas. It seems you can't walk more then 50 feet without bumping into a Leonardo or a Michelangelo. The two forums are well worth a visit, but I'm sure you've done them. Oh, and Cat central - if you like moggies!

Our first visit  last March
Yes, Rome is great; the people are very relaxed - even the taxi drivers are good

We enjoyed it immensely
Stayed at the Savoy Hotel; central location for walking to most of the main attractions
