Title: CAMBRIAN RALLY
Post by: DVT on September 20, 2013, 10:35:53 am
North Wales Car Club   are pleased to announce that details for the Cambrian Rally   to be held on Saturday 19th October   are quickly coming together for the 58th running of the event - final round in several rally championships and attracting competitors from all over the UK.

Entries are coming in at a steady rate, marshals are being gathered to run the special stages in Gwydyr, Penmachno and Clocaenog Forests as well as the final stage around the Great Orme (first car due about 1530 hours). Many neighbouring clubs will be assisting us in the safe running of the event.

In addition there will be static displays on the Promenade thanks to the Conwy County and Llandudno Town Councils.  First car will leave the start at 0800 hours and due back about 1615 hours.  Programmes will be available with all proceeds going to charity.

Rally HQ will be at the St George Hotel.  TV coverage will be on Motors TV some time in November, and local media are also covering the event.

Full details of the event can be found on www.cambrianrally.co.uk   where the list of entries is being updated daily.  I will be happy to (try and) answer any questions - can be contacted on entries@cambrianrally.co.uk

Thanks for the pics DaveR.

Another successful Cambrian (the 58th!) although we had some problems that required thinking on our feet!

Huge thanks to everyone involved, especially Conwy Council and Llandudno Tourism for all their help and assistance, and North Wales Honda for everything they did for us, also Peter Lucas Tool Hire for various equipment.

The various championships went down to the wire which is always good in sporting competitions.

... now to get going for the 2014 event!!!

(and there is another similar event next month!!)

It also got a mention on page 19 of the Sport section of the Mail On Sunday in a piece about Amy Williams (the Olympic Skeleton Bob Champion) who was co-driver to Sky F1 analyst Tony Jardine.
Nice picture of Amy on the prom stood next to a Mitsubishi Evo 9 with the Little Orme in the background.
