Hello
I have another relation who lived in Llandudno most of their life, but this one is not Human, this one of my old vehicles, this is my Ford E83W Pickup.
I know where the owner of the time, 60' sort of time, lives, and have taken the pickup back to see him, but I wondered if anyone had any pictures or information on the garage or pickup, maybe you remember seeing it driving around, maybe you worked at the garage, and remember the awfully cramped driving position...
I would love to hear any information you may have.
I have found some original sign writing on the trucks door, which I plan to keep, but the rest of the truck had lost its original paint, so I have re painted most of it.
This is the pickup in question...

Great vehicle there $good$

Nice. Do you happen to know the name of the Garage in Mostyn St, Edwin?
-
There was a Ford Dealership Garage in upper Mostyn St. Where the 147 Club is now, it was 'Kelly's Garage' ^*^0
-
The only garage in Mostyn Street that I can remember was the one where the Club 147 is nowadays. Can't remember the name of the garage but my cousin Doreen's husband Vic Evans worked there in the 1970's.
I parked my Ford Capri nearby C1973 and when I came back and put the car in gear, the gear stick came off in my hand. Vic sorted it out in a minute or two. :)
PS Your memory is better than mine Quiggs.

Hello
I have made a blunder it is Court street I think, which is off Mostyn street towards the Great Orme end, I believe it is still a garage today as you go down the street it is at the bottom on the corner on the right hand side. I did ask in the garage once but the person I asked just looked at me like someone silly, and shrugged his shoulders, I had hoped there was still hundreds of Ford spares in the back lol.
As far as I now it was known as Landudno Garage, but alas I never went there.
Sorry about my Blunder, :-(
Does Court Street make sense?
Best Regards
Edwin

Is that the garage that John Storer once owned?
It is at the rear of the Victoria Public House and Restaurant and is still a garage.
-
Windsor Garage?

This one?

The pin in your link is nowhere near Court Street when I open the link, it should be the road between Club 147 & The Empire hotel.

53.327051,-3.832085 (Court Street, Llandudno, LL30 2, Wales) - Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=53.327051,-3.832085%20%28Court%20Street,%20Llandudno,%20LL30%202,%20Wales%29)

Whatever a pin in the link is, it's still the same garage on both links.

It's a Streetview image of the garage, are you using a mobile device perhaps?
-
Winsor Garage, thats the one, and yes the one in the links. :-)
-
There was another garage, which became a record shop. By the Conservative Club. I think it was latterly Francis Garage but used to dispense petrol in long arms across the pavement.

iPad actually, why does that make the link not work properly?

Does the same on the iphone, opens it as a map link, rather than as the streetview image.

Does anyone else have any old cars/vehicles?
-
Just by a complete chance I used this garage only five days ago. I didnt even know it was there, but one of my customers gave it a good ref and it was handy for me. It was the first and last time I will ever use it though. No complaints at all---but they are moving to Builder Street any time at all. The parking problems down that entry have got too much for them. Mike
-
Are we talking about the garage directly behind Osborne House (from North Parade) ... and sandwiched between that and The Mediterranean restaurant in Upper Mostyn Street?
If so, it is not easy to access, but the service and advice I received there were second to none.

Didn't they start off in Builder's St and then move to Court St because it was larger?
-
Yes.
-
Think they're moving back to Builder Street in the old Raab Karcher timber yard latterly Ray Seager's Scaffolding place.
-
They are moving to the site immediately left of the Conwy Council parks and gardens depot. Mike

Just to confuse the issue a bit more, I've used the Garage for the last 20 years. It used to be called Windsor Garage but my last invoice from them was in November of 2004. Just after that the owner sold it and moved to Colwyn Bay. The current owner renamed it Llandudno Garage and it's located on Varde Lane Llandudno LL30 2PH Tel (01492) 877501
Honest car servicing, at its very best

The garage on Upper Mostyn Street next to the Con. Club was Kelly's garage before the Francis.
-
I think that it was the showroom for the main garage /workshop across the road, ( 147 now) I remember seeing cars in the windows.
-
Yes the showroom and petrol pumps were in Upper Mostyn Street and the gaage was down the slope next to the Gresham I think it's some sort of night club now.
