I remember going to pick up a model from GEM many moons ago.

There also seems to be a 1963 one on ebay as well.
I remember going to their premises years ago - down a back lane off Rhos Road. Some very good stuff for serious modellers and, for a youngster, quite expensive so I had to continue with Triang!

George Mellor also wrote the History of Colwyn Bay Cricket Club which was one of his great interests. Here is the Front Cover and the Dedication and Title page.

When members of the Llandudno Tramway Society gathered in the Imperial Hotel, Llandudno, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the opening of the tramway between Rhos-on-Sea and Llandudno on 19 October 1907, George Mellor showed a cine film of a typical kitchen-sink, eternal triangle story featuring a local drama group. It revolved around a driver on the L&CBERLtd tramway at Rhos-on-Sea. Of particular interest were the sequences of the staff moving trams in and out of the tramshed and also a splendid view of one of the 1909 4-wheel trams running along Penrhyn Avenue. Nobody knows what happened to this silent movie (duration about 15 minutes) but it is thought that it went to his surviving family. Does anyone know if the family are still around?

Another catalougue from GEM which predates the one from the first post, quite the year of it is yet unknown as I havent got it yet, but it was at a time when George was still in Brewis Road.
Of interest and Intrigue is that it is stamped as "The Hobby Shop", 1 Everard Road. Does anyone know anything about this hobby shop?
I will talk to my dad later on and see if he knows if the mellors family are still about, certainly I believe the Dock's who took over from the mellors are still in Rhos
As for GEm itself it is now in the hands of Lynchett Manor models, who are the fourth owners of GEM, and are still manufacturing the same white metal models as released decades ago
