Whilst blowing away the cobwebs this morning took a walk though Bonlondeb Park where we spotted these roses, and while the leaves are a bit on the tatty side, there are loads of fresh blooms, and to cap it all, I had a sniff and the roses have a lovely fragrance. It is January isn't it? Sorry about the picture, taken on my mobile and falling far short of the usual standard of photography on this site, but is gives you an idea.

Your photo is fine, the roses look like they last had a good pruning several years ago...

Something else that hould not be seen in January are MOTHS!
However there was a medium size one fluttering around my window and outside security light last night.

Fester, I'm delighted to hear that the local wildlife's doing so well. How nice of you to keep a friendly eye on the moths. ;)
Just watch out for the BIG ONES !!! :o :o :o

Blodyn, The only saving grace about Winter is that there ARE no moths.... so if I ever encounter a BIG one in the winter... my life is over.

Our roses have flowered continuously all summer to the present. Mind you the leaves are all blotchy. I have pruned once but am waiting to do it again - harder.
