A friend of mine is one of the Cimatti family. What can the forum members say about her family history? I know the family name has been mention a few times on this forum. She would love to see some photos, if any. Thanks

The name Alice Cimatti rings a bell; I believe she was Secretary to the General Manager of Llandudno Pier and has a large collection of items linked to the Pier & Pavilion?

There was a shop called Cimatti's in Llandudno years ago. There is a picture in the People part of the gallery showing my Taid standing outside it in his police uniform.

They had numerous shops.
This one was in Happy Valley Road, however, the one I always remember was on the corner of Clifton Road and Gloddaeth Street.

I remember Mary Cimatti from Kings Road
I also remember her brother Dave.
Good family. :)

I remember Arthur from JBGS in the early sixties.
Something also rings a bell with me and tells me Alice may have been an usherette in the Palladium Cinema when our kids were little.

The Cimatti family owned a grocery store in Upper Mostyn Street which closed in the ?60's. See previous photo. plus Trojan has found a photo. of a shop on Happy Valley Road. When they closed in Mostyn St. they moved to Gloddaeth Avenue at the top of Clifton Road.
You are right Alice worked for many years as secretary and then also in the toll booth. She had a huge collection of photos. and programmes from the Pavilion but I don't know what happened to it. Is Arthur still around to ask?

i think peter the younger of the 3 brothers might have all the photos

Looks like he died a week after the last men were evacuated from the Dunkirk beaches, I wonder if he died in a field hospital from injuries sustained earlier?

Snippet from the Llandudno Local Forum by Mike Cox (I think).
I seem to remember Pete Cimatti as something of an amateur local historian with a collection of artefacts and information that would be of some value to this site. Does anyone know if he's still around? Pete also had a younger brother (Mike? - it's a dimming with the years job) and they both could be explosive in the right circumstances.

yes trojon pete is still around , arthur paul and pete i don,t remember a mike tho

Peter and Paul were mates - good at darts, local history and scrapping.
