If you spot a celebrity, anywhere from A list, down to Z list.... snap them and mention them here.
Last year I met Haley from Coronation Street, and Roy Hodgson (The new Liverpool FC manager at the time)
Today I was privileged to bump into that mighty Shakesperian actor Sir Derek Jacobi.
(Outside my piddly kiosk on Llandudno Pier)
A very dignified and agreeable man.
-
He looks wrapped up warm against the c-c-c-cold ;D
-
He was indeed,
Plus it was a bad picture of him, because by then he was getting mildly irritated by my mincing about with my phone/camera.
You know how it is... you pose, you say cheese, then you think........ come on.... get it over with....through gritted teeth,
He was very patient with me.
-
well spotted!
One way of getting him to buy some Dragons Balm
-
Now he's not bad at Shakespeare....
_))*
Seriously, Well spotted, Fester.
-
Did he 'Lear' at you through the window Fester
-
Adam in Fountains said that Jude Law was in there the previous week....
-
Today, on the Pier in Llandudno, I encountered comedian Johnny Vegas outside my kiosk. Pictured below.
He was spending a few bob in the Joke Shop. Very appropriate don't you think?
-
He was in Conwy yesterday, too. Is he on holiday or working?
-
He got married recently... and the new Mrs Vegas was with him.
A honeymoon in North Wales? Possibly........ thats where Mrs Fester and I honeymooned.. (amongst other places)
-
On Wednesday, I was informed that the footballing legend that is Denis Law was walking on the pier.
So, I took a quick picture of the former Man Utd, Man City and Huddersfield Town player... and he was an absolute gentleman.
-
I've seen Melvyn Hayes outside PC World, Nick Knowles in Fat Cat and Ian Brown walking down Madoc Street
-
Roger Moore had lunch in Paysanne in Deganwy on Tuesday.

I thought I saw Brad Pitt in Rhos-on-Sea at lunchtime, but then realised it was just a reflection in a shop window ;).

Wynne Evans aka Gio Compario from the Go Compare adverts was in the Seahorse Bistro last night with ex Wales rugby international Rupert Moon

He's performing in Venue Cymru, I think?
-
Who ,Rupert Moon?.

The guy from go compare AND Rupert Moon :o LA has nothing on Llandudno!
-
Rupert Moon is general manager for the North Wales development rugby region as well as being patron of BayLife+ so I'd assume he lives locally for at least part of the time. I'd imagine lots of people have spotted him, they just might not have realised it .

Yes, he definitely is along with up and coming Welsh tenor Elgan Thomas from C-y-D.
Our youngest and a friend will be going along to support Elgan.
To be fair about Rubert Moon, I think he is a tremendous asset for our locality from what I have already seen of the gentleman.
BTW, it is in the Arena because the Agatha Christie play is still on in the Theatre.
-
Mrs Tosh and I saw Johnny Vegas and his lady friend last summer strolling along the prom at Old Colwyn.
We used to see Sherri Hewson in Mostyn Street a few years ago too, I think she lived at Conwy Marina then.
Does her brother keep a pub locally?
-
I think he keeps the Restaurant/Coffee Shop in Llewellyn Ave.
-
Yup, I think you're right, I had a senior moment there Nem.
Their mother passed away last year and she lived in Rhos, quite a good age too I believe, must be all that fresh air.

Correct Nemesis, and I posted this at the time, and the attached picture.
-
Paysanne Tweeted this picture earlier today, to show the A-list celebrity visit!
-
Roger Moore used to have a house in the Conwy area somewhere, I believe.
-
Iwas always told he owned one of the flats on the menai straits

I heard that too, that he had an apartment at Glyn Garth Court on the banks of the Menai Straits
-
Celebrity in my shop today, of a juvenile nature.
Little Simon Barlow from Coronation Street, the child actor Alex Bain.
I have a great picture of him and his family, in my pier kiosk, but they requested that I kept it as a souvenir and did not publish it, (being a child and all that)
This is a picture from Google of what the lad looks like, for those not acquainted with Corrie.
-
A customer of mine today, the very elegant Maureen Lipman, (pictured below)
Although I got her name wrong as I usually do when confronted with a famous face, she was very kind to me.
-
Today, I snapped the actor Bruno Langley, who plays Todd Grimshaw in Coronation Street.
He also played the lead role in The Mousetrap at the venue Cymru, (which was rubbish, but that wasn't his fault)
Sorry he was looking the other way, but those who have seen Corrie will recognise him.
-
Wouldn't know him from Adam. Haven't watched Corrie since Ena Sharples started wearing a hair net! :D
-
Hope he is better in life than he portrays in Corrie !!! He takes a very good part.
-
For the 2nd time in 3 years, I was visited by Julie Hesmondhalgh today. (On the pier in Llandudno)
She is better known as Hayley Cropper from Coronation Street.
On her last visit she was just 'one of the cast', but since then she has shot to real stardom and swept the board at all the Awards Ceremonies, for the extremely poignant portrayal of her death from pancreatic cancer.
It had the nation on the edge of their seats for months, and brought massive ratings to the show.
This is a picture I took today.
-
Fester emailed me with this photo yesterday...and I had no idea who it was. Last time I watched Coronation Street, Rita & Mavis were running the shop. $good$
-
Last time I saw Coronation Street it was in black and white...
-
Irrespective of our Moderator's ignorance of current UK soap opera celebrities, yesterday's visitor is the most famous face we have seen in the town this year.
Perhaps even MORE recognizable than Billy Connolly, that Dave and I bumped into a couple of years back.
Sadly, her character has been killed off now, and she will next be working as a 'bit part' in The Bill or something.
-
An excellent actress. The part she took in Coronation Street was both humorous and yet harrowing. Her soap 'partner' 'Roy' was the ideal foil for her bumbling character. David Neilson needs someone else in the soap to bring back his wry humour.

Nope. Russell T Davies's Cucumber (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3848112/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_2) and Banana (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3848126/fullcredits?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm) are her next two projects, with more in the pipeline.

I think it will be 'Scary Mary'
-
Well Fester, I for one was impressed. I think Coronation Street is excellent and the parts that Roy and Hayley played especially at the end was, I thought really well done. What a lovely happy, smiling photo you took of her as well.
-
Not quite in the area, but we had quite a long conversation with Charles Hanson yesterday ( Bargain Hunt etc) at Mona. He seems a really nice bloke and we wished him well with all his ongoing problems.
-
What problems has he got?
-
Just Googled his problems, cancer and a stillborn baby! Awful for him and his family! Always seems like a really nice chap!
-
It appears that they have now got a baby daughter Matilda, but the other problem does n't seem , as he put it 'out of the woods'. He was a lovely chap to talk to.
-
Just bumped into Jimmy Osmond in Homebase, not quite Llandudno pier but one for mr Fester.lol

Mrs FA has just reported a sighting of Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen in Llandudno B&Q. If anyone wants to meet a celebrity painter and decorator this may be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
-
He's filming in Deganwy for the Ordinary Extraordinary Houses series, 6pm Sundays for an episode in June.
If you haven't seen the series so far, I can assure you that it is embarrassingly awful.

Why Dame Judi Dench and Eddie Izzard are heading to Llandudno
The town is just one of a number of locations across North Wales that directors are choosing to film in.
