Off on a short break too Berlin tomorrow, anyone got any tips or must visits.
-
Depends where you're staying, Wrex. Potsdammer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie, Kaiser Wilhelm Church, Jewish museum and the Brandenburg Gate together with the Reichstag are all must-see, really. You can walk the lot in about 4 hours.
-
Check their Xmas lights whilst you're there! Have a great time! Wiedersehn! ZXZ

-
Great! A place I would like to visit sometime! Did you see this when you were there Wrex?
-
I certainly did,sat in a Starbucks watching Micky mouse,a Bear and two soldiers from Russia,America all trying to have a picture. We stayed in a Swissotel near the Europa center and Zoo gardens, easy on the underground, really enjoyed the Olympic stadium and check point Charlie, with such a easy flying time its well worth a visit and is not too dear.

You'd also like the trains they have, ME; overground, underground, surface. And they all run on time :-))
-
It sounds great! I will have to get a passport first though!
-
Go for it ME!
It would be interesting to see some photos, as it is place I have never been to.

Your wish is my command:
Berlin Zoo - the images on the wall were sculpted from brickwork:
-
The Mall leading to the underground stations...
-
They do nice Xmas lights:
-
The zoo entrance:
-
The Brandenburg gate and Reichstag
-
Checkpoint Charlie...
-
Saudi embassy
-
And the ubiquitous Xmas market

Thanks for those. The Christmas lights look fantastic. What a place for wrex to visit though! Not sure it it made him happy or even more frustrated.
I find real people's photos of places much more telling and interesting than official ones. The traveller photos on tripadvisor are so much more useful than the hotel's own.
