The official opening by the Mayor of Llandudno & Miss Alice of the new Alice themed Bandstand in Happy Valley will take place on Sunday 9th September at 2pm. As well as the official opening, there will be a full programme of events throughout the afternoon (1 - 4pm) in aid of Breast Cancer Care Cymru (see programme of events below). This event has been diligently organised by Ian Turner and I had the pleasure of a mini photoshoot with the current Miss Alice, Roisin Doherty, and Ian at the St Tudno Hotel on Thursday to create some promotional photos for the event.Besides letting us have free reign of his hotel, Mr. Martin Bland also let us use some rare copies of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland from his collection as props for the photos.
I encourage everyone to pop up to Happy Valley on the 9th September and support this great event

could be a good time to have a get together for forum members and ad a few bob to a good cause

That's not a bad idea, Snowcap. I shall certainly be there, albeit working for the afternoon. Perhaps Forum members could meet up for a coffee/chat in the cafe?

I'm pleased to say today's event raised a total of £1131.98 for Breast Cancer Care Cymru. $good$

Excellent fund raising effort!
Mrs Fester snapped this photograph (on her iphone) of a unique event.
The previous Mayor Mr Robbins, taking a picture of the current Mayor, ..and in the background you clearly see the potential future Mayor? ...the Rt Horrible Mr John West.

It was a good afternoon, wasn't it. I'm glad so much was raised but I'm sorry I didn't bump into any other Forum members.

Dave, that's a good set of photos.
Nemesis, sorry I didn't see you - I did see your neighbour.
For anyone who wasn't there, Dave's photos give an excellent picture of the event.

Hopefully Llandudno will become the daffodil capitAl of Wales. Someone didn't have Mrs Hansard as their English teacher!
