Winnie Johnson died early today. She was the mother of Keith Bennett, one of the children murdered in 1964 by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley.

She had for forty odd years appealed to Brady to say where her son's body was buried on Saddleworth Moor but to no avail. The other childrens' bodies were discovered after information provided several years ago.

I always felt a sadness for that lady tortured for forty years, there was never any relief for her.Seems
 even more poignant now it's in the news again
