Why is this forum censored unless it is about Llandudno?
-

You'll have to explain, Pentan, as I have no idea what you're talking about.

Hi Dave
Started a thread about Rydal School maybe I was a bit over the top on the religious aspect? It seems to have gone unless I am in the first stages of dementia it’s been moved and can’t see it lol

I will investigate now.

My fellow Admin, Ian, saw the post this morning and felt it was too contentious and may upset some people, so he removed it. Perhaps if you resubmitted it in a slightly less contentious way?
I'm not sure that, in the case of Rydal, there was a definite link between religion and the child abuse, more a case of paedophiles obtaining work where young boys would be present. In other instances of course, religion has been used to protect those actively involved in child abuse, sadly.
If anyone is wondering what Pentan is talking about, here is the story in the NWWN:

PS
Rydal Mount was founded by T.G. Osborn on 19 September 1885. The School, which was to be a boys’ boarding school in the Methodist tradition, was named after the house (now called Old House) on Lansdowne Road which Osborn had acquired through the good offices of the Reverend F.W. Payne, a wealthy benefactor and Wesleyan minister who lived in Colwyn Bay.
It seems clear that the School was founded on religious values as was St Marys College in Rhos-on-Sea the latter pulled down after child abuse was uncovered so with this in mind I have to stand by my original post
Wherever you look in the world religion is the cause of suffering through wars hatred abuse torture the list goes on,
I had this conversation on the doorstep with a Jehovah witness and the answer I got was the lord does everything for a purpose biggest load of buffalo manure I ever heard
-
Are there still Jehovah witness in Llandudno area ?
-
I think there are as there is a Kingdom Hall in Knowles Road, Llandudno, LL30 2LQ. 01492 871299.

Yes there is a very thriving community, some of my guests go there whenever they visit.

I got rid of about eight of them in one go last Thursday morning after one of their cars was parked opposite my drive! Making it very difficult to get in the drive, grinning idiots were sat in the car watching! $angry$ I told them exactly my feelings on the lack of consideration on where to park They soon went!
-
Bet they did ! :-X
-
Merddin...
If it all gets out of hand, and you are forced to come to blows with them...
... then I am only too willing to offer your victims a blood transfusion.
Its only neighbourly after all!

Sorry to raise an old thread. Can you supply any details. I could find nothing with google searches.
Thanks

I'm afraid Pentan will not be able to answer as my fellow Admin banned him from the Forum for abusive behaviour.
