With moving into the house so late in December It was all a bit of a rush this time last year and I ended up buying a tree from, of all places, the Spa in B Y C . Can anyone advise where's the best place to buy a "live" Christmas tree in the area. Thank You

Yes! _))*

Can anyone recommend a good picture framing service in the area?
Thanks.

Bernards in Craig y don used to be pretty good.

I have had quite a few done at Mainframe--- no grumbles there.

Bernards in Craig y don used to be pretty good.
And still are - I had a motly group of pictures framed in silver metal frames for my Sons present and the help I had with choosing the mounts and frames and the finished job was excellent. The price was also very reasonable. (Don't forget ask for non reflective glass.) ;D

Thanks for the advice on picture framing.
Here are the results!
Three of David Roberts photographs purchased from the Llandudno Emporium and framed by Bernards in Craig y don.
How satisfying to have bought something so lovely and used three local businesses in the process.

Yes, they look excellent (if I may say so myself). ;D $good$

I take it that you didn't like the black and white freebie then?
It never made ''the frame'' as they say.
Well, I liked your jam.. very much indeed! YUMMM $dins$ $dins$

On the contrary, I love the black and white one and also the night shot which I bought from you but, fester, you have to consider the colour scheme when decorating a shed!

The only thing I consider when entering a shed... is spiders !!

I used to consider Chelsea fans. That was a long time ago though.

Hollins, I don't think that "shed" is an adequate description of your new edifice - it doesn't sound like any shed I've ever known!

Since Gordons closed down I have been going to Specsavers in Llandudno for a number of years and I always seem to be examined by the same gentleman who is very good.
Last year, he found something and referred me to the Eye Clinic in St Asaph for further investigation.
-
Thanks Bri.
My husband and I have had two completely different experiences with specsavers. Mine good and his bad, in two different branches. I think it depends on the quality of the staff at the individual branch.
That's why I was hoping somoene would have had some personal experience which you obviously have.
-
I agree about Specsavers. I have been seeing Mr Fisher for many years and he in fact saved my sight in one eye by detecting a detatched retina that I had been walking around with for three weeks. I had it repaired by Mr Ng at St Asaph Eye Hospital just 36 hours after it was detected.
Can't thank him enough, for if it had not been found the retina would probably have totally peeled within a short time. Seeing him next week for my routine examination. ££$

My wife and I are both quite happy with Specsavers in Llandudno - which reminds me, I had a letter last week telling me I was due a two year examination, so will pop off and make the appointment.
-
I have my eyes tested at Boots in Llandudno and don't have any complaints about them, though I seem to see somebody different every time I go. They certainly don't try to persuade me to buy new glasses when there's only a minor change in the prescription. My mother, who has glaucoma, also uses Boots and is happy with them.
-
I have been using Specsavers for many years. I recently bought some new glasses but after wearing them for a couple of weeks found the frame quite uncomfortable. Went back to Specsavers and they happily let me choose a different frame and reordered the lenses (varifocals, ultrathin, reactions) all free of charge. Have also had contact lenses from them.

That looks fantastic, Hollins. I'm sure that your "chalet" is at least as well decorated as any in your Swiss photos - and probably better than most of them.

I have promoted the other two to the shed. They look great. Thank you very much.

I went for my usual appointment at Specsavers today and had a detailed and thorough examination including Retinopothy. Not a great deal of change but will get myself some new Vari-focal, Reactolites next week. Excellent service as usual! 8)

Yorkie, I spoke to Mr Fisher earlier this week to book my check-up and he informed me my man has moved to Caernarfon but Mr Fisher has booked me in to see him instead.

thanks for that, we've already been buying on-line but would rather buy from a local shop if there is one who stocks the ingredient.

While I appreciate that tortillas aren't asian cuisine, have you tried Carmen's asian food market at Craig y Don for such an ingredient?

Mr Hollins has dropped and broken the collector LNB part of our satellite dish. Does anyone know where we could buy a replacement locally? Thanks.
-
Hi Hollins, I got one recently from Drury Radio on Glan-y-Mor Road in Llandudno Junction - exactly the same as the Sky one for about £15. I had originally been to Maplin and the one's there were twice the price!

Many thanks Jack. That is just the info we needed. $good$
