Llandudno beach has been named 'most disappointing' in the UK
The news won't come as a big surprise to those who've campaigned for a sandy beach

The buck must stop with the Planning Committee of CCBC

Llandudno's goats to be rounded-up in wake of A470 deaths
The four killed last month are thought be from a splinter herd that's become established in the resort

Typical it takes a serious accident before they take action on previous warnings, there are rumours, those relocated have already started making their way back to the A470.

Rough sleepers pitch tents near Llandudno beauty spot
They have set up camp near a shelter on West Shore

What on earth are those poor people supposed to do now that the Toilets there are out of action?
Perhaps the Councillor who lives nearby can let them use  their loo

Hugo they are just wasters, evidently they have been using peoples gardens as a toilet 😡.   The girls family want her to go home but they don?t want the boyfriend anywhere near them started off with one tent and 3 more have added. Shame they don?t get off their backsides and work.     As for the toilet no doubt it?s the mechanism Again like last time the two councillors blamed vandalism then admitted it was the mechanism in the doors.  😤

Seven police vehicles arrived via 'blue light' to this camp site this evening (03/05/24 1945hrs.)

The local policing term should use some positive action for the anti social behaviour and move them with a sec35 order.

What is a Section 35 police order?
Section 35 of the Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 gives a Police Constable and a Police Community Support Officer in uniform the power to exclude a person from an area for a period of up to 48 hours with an Inspector's authority.

Council solicitors need to use their bylaw powers and shift them ASAP.

This council  hides behind 'engagement' ....is that another way of saying do nothing and the problem might go away or the residents get fed up of asking/complaining....some people don't engage and need a quick reminder.

paddling pool fine example ....18 months still no paint and water, Westshore sand issue, toilets issue, no regular maintenance of the conservation area which is most of Westshore.

And the local councillor says give the council some time to address the toilet issue....the issue has been going on for 18mths...electronic locks are u/s...

Besides "engagement", the other get-outs used are "working with our partners" and "working with other agencies".  These are cover phrases for the bureaucratic game of pass the parcel; that is: no one with the statutory duty (a rare word these days!) to deal with the issue in hand taking control. Then, failing these, there is the catch all of: "has complex needs".

Update on above rough sleepers...........

They have now moved on according to social media, after a complaint by Welsh Water, they have however abandoned this site, leaving behind a mess and their recently donated second batch of camping equipment, and now appealing for more on FB ?

Also mentioned ... they are receiving full benefits inc. PIP, and were given accommodation by the council. ?

Cash-strapped Conwy County Council is looking to lease out a golf course "frequented by the Llandudno wild goats". The lease for the Great Orme Golf Course is now being advertised on the council?s website as well as property website Rightmove ? with an application deadline of May 10.

The council is looking for a new tenant to operate the pitch and putt golf course on the Orme, which overlooks Llandudno. The five-acre course is set up as a nine-hole, par-three course, "providing an ideal venue for beginners, families and children of all ages in a non-formal golfing environment".

Why don't the authorities get a grip on parasites like that?         Why don't they work and then they wouldn't have time on their hands?
Perhaps it's a mental health issue, which seems to be the buzz word nowadays or an allergy to elbow grease

Call for urgent action after North Wales beach named UK's 'most disappointing'
The Welsh Government has been accused of 'not giving anything back' to the town's businesses and residents

The fault must surely rest on the shoulders of CCBC for allowing this fiasco to happen in the first place

Police issue update on crash which shut major Llandudno road             refDP
A vehicle appeared to have crashed over a roundabout on the A470 before colliding with another vehicle

Police have released an update after a crash which shut a major Llandudno road. Emergency services were called to the A470 Conway Road on Wednesday following the crash.

The road was closed, with major traffic disruption in the area, and drivers urged to take alternate routes following the crash, which happened at around 11.30am. Images from the scene appeared to show a vehicle had crashed over a roundabout on the road, before being in collision with another vehicle.

The force today said it was caused by a "medical episode". A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "The RTC (road traffic collision) on the A470 in Llandudno yesterday was as a result of a medical episode."

No further information about the condition of those involved was provided. The crash affected a number of roads in the local area.

Re: What's Llandudno Like Right Now?.......Paddling pool news

Finally! A positive update about Conwy paddling pool sites........ Well some of them.......... Maybe ?

PADDLING pools in Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr, and Rhos-on-Sea are on the brink of re-opening.

Final testing is currently underway at each site and Conwy County Borough Council are hoping to announce opening dates soon.

Storm Pierrick, which hit the North Wales coast on Tuesday, April 9, has slow progress at Craig y Don but work is said to be entering its final stages.

There could be a second reason for delays; Resident Dave Pinnock, who took the photo (above) whilst on his morning bike ride at 9am on Friday, May 10, claims he was told by workmen that the non-slip paint that was going to be used "failed a slip-test."
