Hi all,
I am sorry to have to tell you all that Michael Owen, better known to us all as Mike Ormegolf, has passed away. Mike was one of life’s great characters and will be missed. Feel free to tell us all your own stories about him.

Sad news, I only new him through the Forum, but his character was there to see, RIP Mike.

He was a true original. Would turn his hand to anything and everything. He'll be sorely missed.

That's a lovely photo of the two of you Nemesis, thanks for posting that. I seem to remember that Mike had a bike to go with that outfit but I don't think that he would have got up to the Golf Course on it
When I walked on the Great Orme I'd stop and have a chat with him and can remember how generous he was with people who went of his golf course. He wanted people to enjoy themselves on the course and often heard him inviting them to do a second round for free
He'll be missed both here and also in Goa where he used to love to go for his Winter breaks

Yes Hugo he had both a bone shaker type of bike and also a penny farthing. That pic. must be 10 years old.

Oh, that is sad news. I used to love his stories.
My own memory is taking him some scones for the forum golf match up there but it was torrential rain and I don't think there were any takers for golf that day.
