We {CCBC councilors}thought it was important to let people know how they can locally commemorate the reign of HM Queen Elizabeth II locally during the period of national mourning.

Commemoration Service:
A commemoration service will be held at St. Johns Church, Llandudno at 11:00 on Sunday, 11th September.

Books of Condolence:
 Llandudno Town Council have opened a Book of Condolence for the public to sign at Llandudno Town Hall, during normal opening hours.
 Conwy County Borough Council will be opening Books of Condolence for the public at their main offices at Bodlondeb (Conwy) and Coed Pella (Colwyn Bay) on Monday, 12th September. The offices will be open for the public to sign as follows:
Monday, 12th September 09:00  17:00
Tuesday, 13th September 09:00  19:00
Wednesday, 14th September 09:00  17:00
Thursday, 15th September 09:00  19:00
Friday, 16th September 09:00  16:45
Monday, 19th September 09:00  17:00

Proclamation of the new Sovereign, King Charles III, on Sunday, 11th September:
Preserved County of Clwyd Proclamation at 13:00 at the Shire Hall, Mold,
Local Proclamation at 14:30 at Bodlondeb, Conwy,
Town of Llandudno Proclamation at 15:00 at Llandudno Town Hall.

Please note that the Proclamation in Llandudno has been retimed from 13:30 as initially advertised by Llandudno Town Council.  This is to comply with national protocol as Local Proclamations are being read across North Wales at 14:30.

Memorial sites:
 Memorial sites will be established at the Conwy County Borough Council offices at Bodlondeb (Conwy) and Coed Pella (Colwyn Bay).

A minute's silence will be held by the nation at 8pm on Sunday, September 18 to mourn the death of the Queen.

People across the UK are being invited to mark the occasion to reflect on her life and legacy privately at home, on their doorstep or street or at community events and vigils. Those living overseas are being encourage to take part at 8pm in their own time.

Downing Street has said that the "shared national moment of reflection" will be an opportunity for everyone across the UK to mark the Queen?s death. The Prime Minister?s official spokesman said people are encouraged to come together.

King Charles III message marks anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death

King Charles III has recorded a message and released a favourite photograph of Elizabeth II to mark the first anniversary of his mother's death.

In the message, the King said he recalled the late queen's "devoted service and all she meant to so many of us".

The photograph chosen by the King shows a young queen, then 42, at an official portrait sitting in 1968.

Elizabeth II died aged 96 at Balmoral Castle on 8 September last year.

It came just months after her Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years on the throne.
