Post Office: Wrongly jailed postmaster praises TV drama

I've just watched the 3rd episode and I'm looking forward to the 4th and final one tomorrow.    The scandal hasn't finished yet and I wouldn't be surprised if more people came forward following this TV series and the publicity given to the injustice

The scenery in the mountains in the first episode is as beautiful as I remember and I must have gone past that cottage at some time but cannot remember where exactly it is located.   It was in a stunning location though

It's on the road opposite the A5, Hugo, and beyond the house is a cabin used by the YMCA in Liverpool.

Thanks Ian,  I've just looked it up on Google street view.   It's quite remote but set in a stunning location with beautiful views over to the Carneddau
We have walked down that old road a number of times in the past and must have gone past the cottage.       One such walk sticks out in my memory more than the others and that was when Tellytubby arranged a walk from Bethesda over the Carneddau before crossing the A5 and walking down that lane to the Ogwen Cottage and a walk around Cwm Idwal before catching the bus back to Bethesda.
At the Ogwen cafe I fancied a coffee so we stopped and I asked the guy who served us "when is the next bus back to Bethesda".
The guy replied about 6 months as the bus company had gone bust!
We skipped the intended walk along the lake and walked back along the A5.       At least it was a dry day and we even walked over the old packhorse bridge that goes under the A5

I've just watched the real life story of Mr Bates V the Post Office and it was very moving indeed and my thoughts go out to all of those people who suffered at the hands of the Post Office
The TV drama series was excellent and the actors looked just like their real life counterpart.    The scenery too was stunning

A petition calling for former Post Office boss Paula Vennells to be stripped of her CBE over the Horizon scandal has reached more than one million signatures. The petition calls for the Honours Forfeiture Committee to remove Ms Vennells CBE after the scandal was covered in a new ITV drama.
I haven't seen the petition yet but if we do Mrs H and I will both sign it

Conwy, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno are all set to feature on BBC's Great Coastal Railway Journeys on Friday (April 19).

Great Coastal Railway Journeys, which features Michael Portillo as host, is into its third series having begun back in 2022.
So far this series he has already visited other Welsh locations including Anglesey, Porthmadog and Cardigan Bay.

This week viewers will see Portillo explore areas within the Conwy county and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park in a new episode of Great Coastal Railway Journeys.

A friend told us how much she enjoyed watching a TV drama called The Cuckoo so we decided to give it a go.   It's a four part drama series on Channel 5 and we watched it over a couple of nights.     There were some good actors in it and we found it well worth watching
