Title: Only Connect
Post by: Ian on April 02, 2015, 07:43:00 am
This is widely regarded as by far the hardest quiz around (and it is) so I thought we'd start an Only connect quiz in here.
The basic idea is simple: determine what connects four seemingly random clues. At the final on Monday night, we managed two correct questions from the entire quiz (well, there's only two of us and they play in huge teams of...er, three.

Anyway, have a go if you feel like it and don't worry about getting it wrong. Winner of each round could set the next, but I'll keep it going until folks feel confident enough with the format to carry it on.

                     Very wild guess - "William",
              1) HEIR = Prince William (2nd Heir to the Throne)
              2) STRATFORD = William Shakespeare ( Born in Stratford)
              3) HASTINGS = William the Conqueror (Battle or Hastings)
              4) JUST = Just William  (Children's book by William Brown)

Another very popular aspect of Only Connect is the wall. In The Wall you have 16 blocks, which you need to arrange into four rows of four and identify the common element to each row.  Here's a starter:
